Sad Why is it so quiet lately?

Maybe it's me but it's been pretty quiet and slow around here. Anyone else know?

Other forums?! What other forums? I had no idea that there were other forums... Or maybe you're hallucinating... must be the heat, the cold or the A/C that's sending out negative energies :P

Now seriously... An off-topic forum is the place to be for me 'cause I'm off-topic in RL, most of the time, too... I scan the post and rarely do I find something to comment on... I'd like to set up a revolution of some sort... a flood of stuff coming from the back of my strangely twisted mind, but I don't have anything to start on.

Now even more seriously... I think this lag will pass... 'Cause it sure is lag, the posts will come.

Greetz!

This place is sorta slow..

Rage3D is always full of threads to read. DriverHeaven Forum gets real excited with driver releases and newly discovered tweaks or hardware.

Maybe people are busy with work! and spending their income tax checks, and it has been sometime since ATI and Nvidia released a new video card. The FX has yet to prove itself lets hope they do so we all can benefit from the competion between Nvidia and ATI.

??? Quiet?

Whaddya mean, "quiet'? What do you expect, it's frigging words on text not conversation!

I think it's because there is so much NOT happening in the graphics world right now, and there just isn't any real controversy here for us to fight over. All our members are too bright to not see the nVidia situation for what it is, so we just don't have the fanboyism going on here that they seem to be having at a lot of places on the net. (Not that I would ever do anything like that or cause trouble anywhere... )

Seriously, when things start happening this place always starts happening....when things get slow DH will tend to get a little slow.

Hmmm....mebbe it's time to bust out the tinsnips and MAKE something happen....

After I post it seems to take forever to go back to the forums, the forums seem very slow all together, (refreshing pages and the like)- maybe that's the reason.

I think this forums quite active, I've also started posting a lot more. However, with over 21,000 members (closing in on 22,000) I think we can do a little better Come on people...get to posting

I don't understand while people are concerned with "post amounts". A forum should be about posting your thoughts and opinions on different subjects. Not about how many times you post. Post numbers are just a stat that show how many times you and others have posted. People shouldn't post messages just to up their number of posts. If people don't have an opinion then they won't post. It's hard to keep up with a forum like this that has a lot of different areas. Not everyone can sit around and monitor the forums waiting for someone to post so they can reply.

Now if this forum totally shut down, and not one post was being posted a day I would be concerned. There are still a lot of posts here per day.

About the number of members now. I think it's totally miss-leading. As you can see there are a ton of "members" with 0 posts. I know I should be arguing about teh number of posts as I just said that they really don't matter. I don't make a whole lot of sense. If you understand this post you are good.

a lot of dribble in there

sorry

I said "I've also started posting a lot more" not to mean I'm going to spam the board but to help people with problems and make things a little more interesting thus making things a little more active

Yeah, there is no problem with that. It's great when everyone helps each other, and contributes their thoughts. Maybe that's what this forum really needs. Get all members posting.

I just don't think everyone should start spamming, and making useless posts if the forum has a slow day or week.

Besides work and just plain temperature (-30 to -40 really doesn't help), I guess it is just that there wasn't that many things to talk about other than the freakin iraq thing. Sometimes you just don't feel like posting either. The driver factor is also to consider. There is really nothing new in the tech sector that is worth while. Hmmm... I guess being single again might help me with posting once more (sniff). Oh well. life's a bitch.

All I was asking is why isn't it as busy as it was 2+ moths ago. I am not talking about the Off Topic Forum. I am referring to this whole site. We have almost 22,000 people but this forum had more talk and posts back when we had under 10,000 people (NO JOKE!) It's just so quiet lately.

Eh, BWX, you know what I mean, like back in October this place was hip and kicking, that was WAY before a contest. Maybe it was the hustle and bustle from the R9700Pro. But still this place has seemed to just taken a nap or something. Or maybe all these thoughts in my head are cuz I've been in xtremesystems.org and overclockersforum.com lately. Those forums are mad busy! Well, I still love this place. I actually know the people here. I'm just a new shy guy in other forums

Well I became a member in November actually, but it was real busy then too- I was searching for something and came across this place. This is actually the second forum I have ever been a member of, so I don't have much to compare it to. Not to name names, but the other one was Guru3d- which was alright, but there were a lot of little assholes over there, so I decided to say C-ya to those punks- There were some really cool people too- don't get me wrong, but way too many of them weren't. This place will always be cool. Slow or not.
You can also go vent and argu w/ people in the political threads as well as get good tech advice, and the mods aren't dickheads- so there will always be people here. (I hope)

I know what you mean though. The news is kinda slow too- everywhere- not just here. It is kinda weird.
Everyone knows the GFFX is, well, not here. No huge games coming out. Christmas is over. War is looming. I dunno-

Memory prices are good, people should be happy about that.
