A Small Announcement
Well I'm leaving in two weeks.
On Thursday, September 14 I will be at a hotel near LA MEPS. Then the next day I will be flying out to Georgia to get the shit kicked into and out of me. I thought I had a little bit more time but my gf informed me that I am leaving in two weeks and thats not a whole lot of time lol. Its kidna funy cause my friends are actually being nice to me now, like I'm some sort of cripple. I really didn't think any of them cared but its good to know they do. Its also a bad thing because now I know how sad they will be when I'm gone. Especially my ex-fiance, her and I are like best friends now and I was really the only person she could confide in and vent at but now I'm leaving. I don't regret anything and I am very excited as this will be the largest event that will ever happen in my life. O and if you didn't know or couldn't tell by the sig, I'm goin for US Army Rangers. Special Forces. I know I'll make it, just have a hunch lol. I would like to take this time to thank all of you for putting up with me for as long as you have. I know I've been an ass sometimes....well most of the time but I'm glad Z never banned me lol. I hope I've helped some of u even if its the smallest bit of advice on something I know nothing about : ). It really has been nice knowin all you guys and I plan to come back here in the future sometime after my training. I love you guys |

Congrats and good luck!
Ever been to Georgia in Aug/Sept? Hope you like it hot & muggy. It's a bloody sauna here. I do lots of cross country running & some adventure racing type stuff so I can imagine what it's going to be like doing special forces training. Can you say hot, sticky, sweaty, bug infested hell? I can.... "Middle Georgia". |

Good luck buddy
. it was great hanging out w/you the few times we did. Maybe we can catch one more before you leave? at least you're not leaving to the carolinas; you'd probably be stuck doing some cleanup work if you were .

Ah...coming over to my neck of the woods. GA is awesome...97% Humidity, 92 degrees outside....70 mosquitos per capita, and 5 acres of asphalt per tree.
Oh...and it won't rain for a month, then dump 4 inches in 48 hours....gotta love GA. But good luck with the rangers man...that's some tough stuff. Take care of eyrself |

get a memory stick and save the link, you can email us from where your going, my son-in-law sends me emails from Falujah so I know it can be done.
hang tough, dont give up and remember the flesh is weak, but your mind is strong. I dont regret what I did. I went from the 2nd Marines all the way to Fast Attack Submarines out of Groton. Ct. I am damn pround of anyone that serves their country and gives their very best, and I hope and pray you join us one day as we dis-embark. Dont be discourage by all the gaps in the line, those that have come before and those will follow are part of a unique family and yet without us, our countries that enjoy democracy wouldnt have existed. I still shed a tear and feel that pull in my stomach I sing the natioonal anthem, hold my head down and say thankyou when I see the gardens of stone where the very best of us lie and wait for the ressurection or the mercy of their God. Live long and die hard, but no matter what happens never go easy...its never been my way...and I dont think it will be yours either. We used to say Semper Fi. but you can say what ever you want as long as you remain loyal to your country, your family, and your heart. Fair winds and following seas my good man...

Good luck to you!
I'm also here in Georgia and can verify that if the humidity doesn't bring you down, the mosquitos will! But, right now it's raining and a welcome thing it is! Take care. We'll be looking for you to check in now and then. |

Maybe one day when i figure out how to get a green card i'll see you around sometime.. not that i'll recognise you, but still... ![]() remember one thing, never give up.. like everybody said: the mind is stronger then the body, you just need to let the body know that fact!

best of brother, let the flavor of green death reign down on all who oppose, tis the only way. MAN WHAT AN ADVENTURE!
on another note, there is a certain person coming to visit me tommorow to talk of options and how i might be able help in this whole crazy situation the world is in, dunno though as some medical reasons may hinder me....... And Jeff, my aunt has worked at General Dynamics in Groton for 30+ years, she prolly worked on much of what you rode on. A great uncle of mine and WW2 veteran retired from there. Thanks guys, I really do appriciate.
Also found out recently that everyone of my relatives that went into the armed services did not die while at war. Quite a few were highly decorated. So I'll try not to disappoint and stay alive ; ). First thing first is basic. |

All the best man, train hard enough and long enough and maybe someday you'll be good enough for the UK Special Forces...

Its cool, SAS is the second best in the world. Israel's SF is 1st.
Delta Force is 3rd. Edit: We still have the #1 over all mill though

The way you've been training yourself lately, you should blast through Basic no problem - show 'em how it's done, and make many friends as you get the chance... Godspeed, truly SFOSOK! Hopefully, you'll get the chance to check in here on occasion too...

Thanks man it means a lot. Truthfully all I hear from people is don't volunteer for anything and try to make yourself the least noticable person.
Thats just not me and I always loved learning the hard way. I figure if I volunteer for everything no one else will have to and I want to stand out and lead the way. Gotta keep motivated |

Heres a little trick I heard about... A DI may yell out - 'Hey You soldier' (or even common last names) - and the FIRST to turn around and acknowledge - becomes his 'next volunteer' - usually for stuff thats not so fun. edit> - and come back alive - k |

Me + body surfing a 12ft wave = sepperated shoulder at AC joint + Almost broken back (sever sprain and contusion). So pretty much every time I try to do anything that requires moving, it is a painful adventure. Can hardly move my right arm.
So this is what happened. At the beach with my friend and she got destroyed by some gigantic waves. Like 3 in a row, she looked pretty dazed for a while. Unsatisfied with the waves I did ride earliers (some pretty huge ones) I decided I wanted one huge wave. So she decided to watch this time instead of getting destroyed again. I took a couple waves but then I saw the mother of all waves. I have never seen a wave larger than this one, not even on TV. I though it was about 10-11ft but my friend assured me afterwords it was much bigger. So with only a split second to decide I took it. The wave literally picked me up out of the water and was so strong it forced my arms to my side and repositioned my body. I slammed into the ground at full force on the right side of my face and above my right shoulder. My body bent in half twisting my neck, spreading my head and shoulder away from each other, and throwing all of my weight on my Neck, head, shoulders and lower back. I felt paralyzed at first and was slammed into the shore by another wave. Struggling not to be pulled in by the imense current I called up the shore where I was greated by my friend smiling at me not knowing what was goin on. I imediately screamed at her that I thought I broke my neck (sorry Natalie). She imediately ran to call 911, while I laid down on my back. The water again flowed up to me (taunting me). So I stumbled to a bit higher ground screaming in agony. She showed up in no time to my side with the paramedics on the line. Though I was in serve pain and thought I may have injurd my spine I told her to hang up the phone so my parents wouldn't have to pay for medical bills. 911 quickly called her back and arived on the scene shortly. Also, luckily there was an off duty lifeguard there. I was chatting with the paramedics on the way to the hospital and told them I was sorry for getting their stuff all sandy. So yeah, pretty much in intense pain and they won't take me for the Army this thursday. In fact they may drop my contract all together, which means I may have to do everything all over again. With physical therapy and getting better and everything, my father thinks I may not be able to leave for another couple of months. I'm pretty disappointed and pissed at myself right now, I just hope this doesn't blow my chances for Rangers. Also on top of that I think I have an ear infection in both of my ears fro mthe bonfire and being sick before that. Both my ears are still muffled. Anyway my eyes are closign and I'm about to pass out fro mthe Vicaden I took, pain is still here but I'm sure I'll deal wit hit. Sorry guys, u may have to dealw tih me longer than expected. |
