Intel Job cuts

Our local TV was all over this doing interviews, we have 17.000 Intel employees in the state (Oregon), most in my town, Hillsboro has 80,000 population and Intel is the main employer in the town

The estimates are 2500 to 3500 here will be laid off. That will be a major impact, there are a lot of other Tech companies here and I expect they will be bargain hunting among the departing employees, but they won't absorb all that many. I estimate a couple of hundred might find work locally at the most

It won't hurt me in any way (It might even help me find a decent house)

It is sad to see the effects of AMD having it way with Intel though.
