Any news on Quad core from AMD/INTEL?

Before this post gets squirreled away in some dark corner of the tech forum, does anyone have anything more than Google info on quad core tech?

http://www.intel.com/technology/arch...ad-core-06.pdf

What specifically are you looking for?

Considering its not released yet (nov 13th - 'quad fest') - more than that may be difficult until then..?? I dunno. But I would think its basically just 'multi-core' tech. the # of cores would seem moot - other than the $$$ - but the mechanics sound similar to dual cores (as indicated in that pdf I linked to).

ps. I found that by googling 'intel.com: quad core' - but more search terms may help get specifically what your looking for.

then theres this found with 'amd.com: quad core'
http://multicore.amd.com/en/

saw some of that, overheard some techs at Bestbuy discussing the quad core technology and they were using a well worn copy of Maximum PC, but I guess I will have to buy my own copy, thanx man..

I've read all the Max PC's.

It looks like Kentsfield is two superglued Conroe's, so I wanna see how that turns out.

If it ends up that you can slap a quad core on a P5B-e from Asus, I'd be interested

From what Intel was telling us at one of their seminars their first quad core from them will cost around $1000... maybe more.

No thanks.
