Three PS3 campers and a WKYT news reporter were hit in a drive-by Wednesday night while outside the Lexington Kentucky Best Buy store.

This may May be in the news,But i personally don't see any connection for this to go on driverheavens front page (another mod may see this differently)...

I don't see anything connecting the shooters was after a ps3,If that was the case i would of posted this in the gameing news archive.

But due to the time scale as im in the uk,the news i get can sometimes be a little delayed from the time i moved this to the off topic forum to what you read.....

Seeing as one or two Game sites has posted this in the mean time.... I now think i made the wrong move...

Probibly, Burbank cali had a line that started last week but best buy broke it up. 1-2 days seem to be the norm. If I had the Time/Money I would probibly camp out over night

I have a feeling (bb gun and all) that the criminals (can we call them that now?) attacked the people in line simply to piss them off. An attack vs the geeks of the area if you want, and nothing else/more. None trying to steal or kill anyone. Just some bullies.

There is also the chance that they did this to force the people leave the line, so that they can join the line later.

i just saw the lineup across the street by my condo here at the future shop, theres a bunch of tents. i was walking over to goto wendy's for a snack and saw a buddy from high school there... this somalian dude but he said someone paid him to wait in line there haha

A kid from my work is getting paid 200 to camp out tonight, and my friend and I were going to but by time we got of classes the line were formed and pretty long(got out of class around noon).

Meh I'm going to try and get up early cSunday for church, lol I mean the Wii... maybe I can waste my hard earned paycheck on that...

on but seriously guys I understand that its just a BB gun but you dont get the point...plus BB guns can actually shoot yer eyes out (hahaha loved that movie..)

Anyway serously you can hurt someone pretty bad with air rifles and it was the intent behind it.

But. BB guns are not necessarily toys just do a little google work on full auto bb guns. You can find things like this:

This baby is supposed to put out up to 10 BBs a second at 350 fps velocity. That's NOT a toy!! A .32 cal handgun typically has a muzzle velocity between 700 & 900 fps.
Is it going to riddle you with holes & turn you into little chunks of meat? No, it is going to cause injury & possible maiming (put out an eye - that is a great movie!!) very possibly. Particularly if you are not wearing some seriously heavy clothing.

If you start talking about pellet guns - that's far worse. Those things can get up there with .22 long rifle rounds. Those will punch a hole in ya. Small, and negligible chance of causing shock from the impact, but aim in the right spot & it could put a hole in a vital organ with little trouble.

If you want a toy get one of the soft pellet bb guns or a water gun or cap gun. Otherwise it ain't a toy. And this is definatly not an issue of gun control. See the flame zone for that thread.
