Christmas Morning, 2006: Yes, There IS a Santa Claus!
Here I am on my 58th birthday; well past the years of believing in Santa Claus. I still remember all the excitement of my young life when we'd put out the cookies and milk to entice Santa to give us a little better attention for our hospitality.
Of course, as I grew older, my expectations and excitement began to wane as I realized where all the gifts really came from...and then, years later, had to be able to provide those gifts under the tree for my own little ones. My excitement and eagerness transformed from expectations as to what I would get to eagerness to see the looks in their eyes when they opened that ONE gift they were wishing for. It's hard to describe the sheer joy and satisfaction of knowing that Santa had come though once again. But, as adults, we all know that Santa really doesn't exist, right? My own kids are now the ones with their own little ones and the baton has been passed on to them to fill the shoes of Santa Claus. So, in my own mind, Santa Claus had been relegated to the realm of all the other fairy tales along with Peter Pan, The Tooth Fairy, etc. As magical as it all was, the magic was all smoke and mirrors. Until this year.... Completely unexpected, and with no real expectations in mind, a "Santa Claus" has provided a wonderful Christmas/Birthday gift to me in the form of a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM as listed in my new profile to the left. Additionally, I had received, at no charge to me, an X1950 PRO a few weeks ago as a result of my new position as Senior Editor on another website. (No spamming, you see.  )Even that position is something that was presented to me without my soliciting it. They came to me and wanted my expertise and experience. So, even though I'm 58 today, I've regained some of my discarded belief in Santa Claus. Even though he may not have the long white beard and flowing white hair, there really IS a Santa Claus! Merry Christmas to all my friends on DH! And, thank you, Santa, for renewing my faith.

I still haven't had time to do much tweaking. Oblivion settings are Ultra High, 1600x1200, HDR, Vsync ON, no AA, Large Textures and using the UniqueLandscape Mod as well as what came with Knights of the Nine. The Screenshots are taken using ATT's HotKey Screenshot option in order to show FPS in the upper right corner.

Everybody in my family knows I am into PC's and still didn't get me one thing PC related. That blows to because when I get gifts I always get something that I know they are in to. My best gift was a 100.00 target card. TARGET!!!!LOL What the hell am I going to get at target. Those pen drives, if they have that annoying u3 software on it, do a search for u3_uninstaller.exe, its u3 utility given to Best Buy geek squad from u3 to completly format the drive and revove the little partion that makes it come up as a CD ROM device and a Jumpdrive, after runnin the tool, u have a standard pen drive, careful though as i dont know how or if you can revert back to the u3 setup.
And yes, mighty nice to see Falstaff around, he must be really busy as he doesn't seem his horny self lately!
