I didn't realize that they were considering using the original cast.
I thought the whole reason they were shutting down SG-1 was due to the cost of the contracts for the main cast? |

They arnt shutting SG- 1 down due to cost, because the cast members are already in a signed contract for season 11. So people are saying that since they want to stop at season 10, they are using the contracts already signed to do the 2 movies due out the end of this year. |

Sci-fi channel is cutting down the budget is what i understood, it's not they don't have enough money (hell they are raking in enough to make an episode that makes your standard movies budgets look dinky in comparison)
I'm not sure if the contracts would work that way, but then again i haven't seen them. You'd figure it would stipulate that it would be series, and not movies, enless of course they do it as a release to theaters mini series?

I remember the Save Enterprise campaign. There were massive rumors. Few ended up being true. People figured since they saved the original series, and enterprise for a season 3 by massive campaigns that it would work for a season 5. Fox made a massive mistake cancelling Enterprise when they did. It had gotten excellent with the Expanse Arc, and season 4 is when it took off. You'd think they'd have learned, because just about every Star Trek series it only took off after about season 3. They even admited that the rating had kept getting stronger and stronger. Hell saveenterprise.com raised just over 3 million usd. Nasa being a big contributer with 1.2 million. But when each episode budget being roughly 1 to 1.4 million I guess 3 million wasnt that big of a deal in their eyes, but you'd still think that they would have realised for people raising that kind of money it had fans. SciFi's shows BSG, and Stargate has roughly a million dollar budget per episode. Paramount estimated each episode of Voyager, and DS9 to have a episode budget of roughly 2 million each. I just cant get over these networks having shows rivaling the budgets of movies, and cancelling them right away. It's pissing me off. |

Hey - you mentioned HD.
What specific resolution do they broadcast HD at? I mean, HD could mean 480p, 720p, 1080i or 1080p, right? |

You can find 'em on Bit Torrent, I believe. If you are already paying for the satellite or cable, would seem perfectly reasonable to be able to download and watch 'em.

Actually no, that's no an option.
I may have steller internet speeds, but that is one thing i cannot do thus yet. And i'm not willing to sacrifice my internet abilities for something that i could just wait and watch on tv. Bittorrent + my interconnection = many people going nutz on my connection (and adjusting the upload rate doesn't help really at all, just makes things slow down) I ran bit torrent for all of 1 hour and had uploaded nearly 50 times more information then i had download. Hell i had download 5mb of a file, and uploaded of that SAME file nearly 50mb within the first few minutes. Bittorrent is freaking sweet, just damn shitty for anyone with a cap limit on there total bandwidth use. (i'm able to push the limit occasionally, but bittorrent will DESTROY the limit within probably 6-8 hours on a popular file)

In the router I set the Ext. Port at 51763 to 51763, enable the TCP and UDP protocols and check Enable. I limit my upload speed to about 80% of bandwidth (as instructed) maybe less - I have it set to 30 for example. Utorrent has a nice little "Speed Guide" wizard thing from the Options menu. That gives good results in most cases. It wasn't there in some earlier versions and was put there specifically to help folks get the most out of their connection without too much hassle. Since TV shows are so intensely seeded in the say 1-14 days after the airing, your chances of getting a fast transfer should be excellent. I think the theoretical max of my 1.5 gbit is like 196k. I often get in the 170-180k range. Can be downloaded in mere minutes. Worse case, I leave it over night and come back in the morning and clear all the completed downloads. More and more networks are starting to stream their episodes directly from their site, which is great, but I still prefer having the file on my drive so I can watch it, fast forward it, etc. at my convenience, just like on a VCR or DVR. If you would like to try again, just let me know - I will try to help if I can. Good luck. |

i've downloaded a single TV show and topped out @ around 6.7MB/s sustained on bitorrent. However my upload rate was greater then that. I've used a few different bittorent programs, including utorrent. Adjusting the upload rate, bottlenecking the upload rate in any way, results in a slower download rate, whatever i do, seems to result in my download rate ALWAYS being slower then my upload rate. Actually at one point, the torrent downloader (utorrent, and bitorrent both) reached a download rate that litterly killed ALL my other internet related programs, disconnecting my MSN messenger and even browsing the internet would result in page not found messages. My bitorrent download came to a crawl and my upload rate just keep pushing on. And all i was doing was downloading .... quite actually, AutoPatcher november full and december update. Got them, but i forgot to shutdown bitorrent or remove them from setting myself up as a seeder.

First of all, I'd like to ask if you have a router, like a Linksys BEFSR41 or are you doing a direct connect to the cable modem? Second, I'd ask if you have tried Utorrent 1.6. Third, I'd ask if you have a cable or DSL setup? I'd really like to help if I can. I had a bunch of folks help me with it until I got it working, and now that I have it working right, it works incredibly well. Feel free to PM me so we don't saturate the thread with off-topic stuff. I'll do what I can to help you get the most out of it. Thanks Last edited by DudeBoyz; Jan 24, 2007 at 12:57 AM. |

God damnit I'm pissed off. I love Atlantis. Atfirst I was iffy about it. I was really enjoying the cast, alot. McKay is awsome, etc. But the killed off Dr. Beckette. I litteraly teared up, they made it so freakin emotional. He was a good actor, and that will be sorely missed.

![]() Atlantis is up to ep 18 in canada now. I think there are 2 more to go this season, right? They killed Beckett off in what was supposed to be Ep 14, but actually is chronologically, between eps 17 and 18 I think. |
