Probably the most sobering thing I've done yet in my life.... Not for me so much nor my wife but opening up a childs and even an infants gas mask kit.... As we've been ordered to open all kits and size the masks and to verify that all parts are in working order I've began to feel quite queezy. Just something about placing your 6 month old baby inside a plastic bag with a forced air filtration system just aint' right.... then seeing the smiles on my 5 and 7 year old boys faces as they thought it was all great fun but in reality daddy knew the gravity of the situation we're in.

Please Lord, don't allow any chemical or biological weapons to fall in this country, or any othe,r in the coming days and weeks. And while I'm here, could you please watch over and keep Donato L as he and so many others place their lives on the front line in service to their country and our world..... Shalom.

I hope you, your country nor any other person in the whole middle east has to use a gas mask in the upcoming days. One thing shuki, one of my jobs in the military was a nuclear, biological and chemcial NCO in charge of a unit NBC program, room and equipment. Make sure that the mask comfortably fits your head and properly seals *before* it's needed. Also be sure to remove all plastic bags around the filters, if they are left on the filter no air will penetrate. I'm pretty sure you will make sure of this anyway but the above is common mistakes knuckle headed soldiers would make. My heart goes out to you, God bless.

Unfortunately, the only masks the nice Israeli Govt. were making available to foreign workers over here were manufactured in '83 and the atropin injections were from 96 so my wife and I didn't bother to spend the $50 on them..... And really, in the event of a true blue Biological attack, how much good these things gonna do anyhow. IMO, they're more for peace of mind and staying mass hysteria than for actually preventing Biological agents from entering the body. Tear gas is one thing but Biological warfare is a whole new level.....

we'll just sit back in our sealed up room and pray for our country(ies) and soldier(s) and trust God with the whole thing

The injections really do nothing more then increase the heart rate and give you a "little more time" to get medical help. They would do nothing for a biological attack. At this point I would be less worried about a biological attack. The logistics behind a biological attack are many, and a great deal of things can spoil the desired effect. This is also true of a chemical attack, but they are by far easier and dirtier to setup and execute. Good grief though, enough of the dry surgical lecture as I'm sure you've heard it already. Your last sentence sums it up quite nicely, and I think you've got the right idea.
