Saab's are awesome...but the older cars always resembled a melted candy bar dropped on one end.

i just got back home from seeing the show. not bad, but kinda lackluster. the only major cars they there was the new Camaro convertable and Viper SRT. nothing else really spectacular.
guess its kinda hard to beat the previous years show when they had the new Z06, Camaro, and Challenger (which was missing from this years show)

I dunno, there were some pretty cool looking prototypes.. I like that new Mitsu Evo, or whatever they are going to call it. Some nice concept cars too.

EDIT: Saab Automobile USA announced last month that it will offer a free new Saab to any U.S. customer who covers the distance of one million miles (or more) in a Saab that he or she originally purchased new. The new Saab will come with the 100,000 mile/5 years GM Powertrain warranty and 3 years/36,000 miles free scheduled maintenance, standard with every model in the 2007 Saab Automobile USA portfolio.

I don;t know why I instantly think of these things.. But if I had an old Saab in the barn I originally purchased, I would set it up on some blocks, but it in 5th gear, and put a brick on the gas pedal.. In a few month, boom, new Saab.
They say they check for tampered with Odometers, so you'd have to actually have the car do that many miles, but no one said it had to be on the ground.

(I could be way off on price because of converting dollars, distance and fuel economy multiple times in my head. edit: and the fact that I didn't use any common sense before running numbers through my head) A million miles is damn impressive though, I drove my last car to the ground, and that was just over 300,000 km when I sold it.

ya, they did have some cool concepts there. the one i really hated was the new mustang. sooo damn ugly.
looks like the bastard son of the current stangs and new eclipses.

Usually the cars that have made it in the orginal condition to 1million miles, has been so well kept, the food or drinks or any kinda of actually living conditions have been disallowed from making it even remotely into the car.
Btw, if a car was jacked up on bricks and put in gear, setting the cruise to match the lowest obtainable RPM at the highest gear would result in the highest gas mileage. You could probably see (due to actually litterly little to no resistance) a fairly hefty miles per gallon.

With no resistance in 5th gear you would probably get about 200 MPG.. only thing the engine is working against is it's own internal friction and the driveline- which if well lubed, doesn't offer(edit-not over) too much resistance. If a car gets 25MPG pushing 3500 pounds around (or more), mileage pushing zero pounds must be orders of magnitude higher.
