I see you have Radeon card, get ATI Tray Tools (if you don't use it already), it can monitor almost anything (including CPU and MB).

I use speedfan and CoreTemp, it's supposedly the most accurate measurements because it uses some digital readout directly on the cpu (or something like that). Reads temps on both cores if you have dual core.

CoreTemp doesn't work on old (e.g. Northwood, Prescott) CPUs.

ITE Smart Guardian. It also shows you the voltage for almost everything, and the RPM and temperature for CPU, PWM IC, Chipset.
You can manualy over ride the fan speeds or set some options. I don't guarantee it will work on your machine though. I don't trust very much these programs.

Keeping in mind that it just displays what the sensors spit out, and the AMD ones are rated to +/- 14 degrees IIRC. I use Everest Ultimate, it reads the core temps, and temps for everything else, and can be configured to put the desired temps in the systray... not a free program though.

Usually what came with the mobo is supposed to be good.
CoreTemp is actually really good for C2D procs because it does read off the internal temperature sensors on each core, although you can usually enable that function for any program within the mobo BIOS |

With PC Wizard 2007, you get ALL the temperatures you can ask for. Then, you can also set this program so that the temps show on the Desktop in the upper right corner of the screen in any color of text you prefer.
Take a look at all the temperatures it shows, and this is on a Core 2 Duo system at present:

Dyre: That PC wizard gives you some good info. (just downloaded)
Also SIW (System Info for Windows) gives you a veritable array of information including HDD temps. Mousey: MBM5 sometimes needs to have the settings adjusted to register your mobo or sensors
