New gfx card + new sig
I'm waiting already three months for a Radeon 9500 Pro now, and it's still practically impossible to get - except for one retailer I found last friday on the net which supposedly has it in stock, but for exploitative 250€ (US$275)
![]() Since ATI apparently doesn't care for the European market (it's not just Germany, as I heard it's no better in other European countries), I simply said, "FOAD, ATI!!!" and bought from the concurrence ![]() So now I got myself a fine Gainward Ultra/750 based on the GF4 Ti4800SE for 165€ (US$180), which even kicks the Radeon 9500's sorry ass Hail to the king, baby! ![]() So I've now created a nifty sig image where I've crammed all three resultion benchmarks into

The tables will be turned in 3DMark 2003 - but any real game that demanded DX9 hardware, would have a very small market!

its next to impossible to get a radeon 9500 pro here in the UK ... Europe has been shafted ... i managed to get a 9700 non pro but £45/$68 above budget

![]() I was just curious and run it just to see the outcome (default settings - didn't do any tweaks or optimizations yet): http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=544434 Not to shabby, I guess... except that stupid 3DMark 03 falsely detected my card as a Ti 4200 (Ti 4200 w/ 8x AGP would be 4680 - 4800SE is 4400 w/ 8x AGP)

There's only one retailer over here who claims to have the 9700 no Pro in stock, but he wants about 300€ (US$330) for it

Just noticed - why isn't my sig image showing?
Looks like Lycos isn't reliable enough for this ![]() Anyone knows where I could put my sig image? (it's only 10kb) edit: Now, at 21:50 over here (GMT+1), I can see it again... looks like it's going up and down like a seasick surfer A more reliable place for the image would be still nice, tho.

I'll probably end up with a 9700 non-pro (bba bulk), about 300 euros also... It should be better than the 9500pro with the 256bit mem-bus though. But I still have to raise the 300 euros

So say if I wanted to make some money. Basically all I would have to do is buy a huge stock of ATI 9500 Pro - ATI 9700 Pro's...send them to my cousins and setup a small buisiness online and sell them a reasonable prices?
Talk about a great oppurtunity!! |

So, you too. Over here I only found ONE 9500pro, Hercules and 300 euros... I guess it was only one, it disappeared the next day. Worse, my sister couldn't buy one in the Netherlands. I'll probably end up with a 9700 non-pro (bba bulk), about 300 euros also... It should be better than the 9500pro with the 256bit mem-bus though. But I still have to raise the 300 euros Since I didn't have 300€ either (press Ctrl+Alt+E for Euro-sign) and didn't want to wait any longer, I just went with the Gainward Ultra/750 with the GF4 Ti4800SE, which is even faster than a Radeon 9500 Pro (see my sig) I always try to stay around 150€ so I can buy a new card about once a year, rather than spend 300€ or more and only get one every few years... besides, the 300€ + cards are vastly overpriced anyway, about half a year later you can often get them for around 200€ already. Then, when you then finally upgrade, you don't get much anymore for your once-300€-card, so you'll have a really high loss. Selling off a 150€ card after a year often still brings half of it ![]() Avaiability over here was quite good, so I could find a store where I could get it for 165€ So I'd say you shouldn't have too much difficulties either... if you don't need 128MB (which only makes sense for FSAA at really high resolutions), you can also get the 64MB version which is a good bit cheaper.

Surely beats having it on a free webpage, which isn't that reliable...I'd put it on my ISP's webspace, but I have a low traffic limit there, so it's generally down at least the last week of the month (if not more), because I won't pay for the surplus traffic So I already relocated all important stuff to Lycos, which is free and doesn't have a traffic limit, but it's not 100% reliable (still much more than other free sites, though)If anyone wants to take a look at my Lycos page, it's here: http://mitglied.lycos.de/downloadwunder/ My homepage at my ISP (didn't do any work on it since some time already )http://home.arcor.de/minako.aino/ My Seiken Densetsu 3 page (on my ISP's webspace): http://home.arcor.de/minako.aino/sd3/ |

GF4 Ti 4800 SE (Ti 4400-based) for 148G (215.09€) - cheapest store over here has one for 180€ (123.86G) GF4 Ti 4800 full (Ti 4600-based) for 196G (284.84€) - I already saw one for 260€ (178.91G) at a *warehouse* - and warehouses often tend to have rather high prices, the cheapest store offers it already for 250€ (172.03G)! Oh my... *this* is considered "cheap" in the UK? ![]() I already thought prices in Germany were high (and they are when compared with US prices!), but this... My heartfelt condolences, guys

Indeed - their prices are a lot better than those of that other shop ![]() Checking a few items, they don't seem any more expensive than over here. £139,82 (206€) for a full Ti4800 is surprisingly cheap even Had I found such a card *that* cheap over here, I would've taken it instantly! So you got the 9700 for £182,12 (267.64€), right? Not a bad price indeed, the cheapest 9700 over here is 269€ (should they indeed have it in stock, as they say) - but that would've been still much too expensive for me

But hey, as long as your card does what you want it to, that's all that should matter.
