Since imageshack blocked my domain (users posted a lot of images from there), i installed an image hosting script on my home server. It was not as secure as i thought and some Turkish hackers have been able to upload .php files DoSing my server for a couple of hours. I didn't check to see if it was secure enough since I honestly did not expect them to be even able to find my server since it doesn't really have any content or links pointing to it. I have disallowed all file extensions except common image types now but i still see multible attempts at hacking my server. What is the easiest way to stop hackers?

Btw, i really don't see what motivates these hackers. I have never harmed them in any way... It's not a grudge since they live thousands of miles away from me.. i don't get it.

dont take it personal - you/your computer is simply an asset for them to obtain a goal.

You can block their IP's - either on the server or a router/firewall etc...
- something like zone alarm can do this too.
Kinda depends on your OS / server etc..

lol, i was just trying to figure out their mindset cause i don't get it.. lmao... i have blocked the ones i logged. Hopefully that'll slow them down at least.

Speaking of imageshack...

My school is absolutely retarded. They are so paranoid about everything that if the word "hack" appears AT ALL in the URL, they block it. So we can't go to imageshack because it's "Hacking oriented". Imageshack.us. Apparently the images can hack

Oh well, me and some other kid use a proxy to get around it anyway

It's just annoying, is all
