An IRC guide...
use the same commands as DOS... if you can't use DOS then get the F--K OFF MY FORUM!!!
EDIT: J/k BTW... its not my forum and i'm just kidding about leaving. DOS is easy to use... use common sense... you'll get it. |

I assume that this is in response to the comment I made about not knowing how to use IRC. Well I don't know DOS either. I'm not a full blown computer geek. I know more modern things. That includes nothing about DOS.
Can't you fnd other ways to make BS posts?

/dir = looks at stuff in a directory (folder) /cd (folder name) = opens a different folder /copy (filename)*.* X(drive name)\(Folder Name) = copies stuff somewhere else /del (filename)*.* deletes file thats the basics.... now for IRC stuff... /get (filename)*.* gets file from a user "!list" = lists everyone's that is serving's trigger... i think thats about it... maybe other people can tell you more...

Why all the slashes? All you need to do is type the commands without the slashes. Find yourself a good server like irc.xbetas.com, then channels like betas-xdcc or betas-servers. In betas-xdcc for example there are special triggers that when typed, automatically download the files for you. One example of such trigger is /msg B-XDCC-G12 xdcc send #x where #x is the file # you want the person to send you. The lists of files are continuously being listed and look like this:
<useless2> XDCC Server Active Sends:«1/1» Queues:«1/5» <useless2> Current BW:«33.2 Kbs» Record CPS:«41.6 Kbs by ^despq^» <useless2> #1 «488_MB» Windows Xp Pro - (1 gets) <useless2> #2 «639_MB» xbetas-w2k3corp6in1v2.00 - (7 gets) <useless2> Served:«4.85G» Packs Offered:«2» <useless2> MOTD: -= Invision 2.0 Build 1816 =- <useless2> Type:/ctcp useless2 XDCC Send #<pack number> —I-n-v-i-s-i-o-n— So to get win xp pro for example, you would type /ctcp useless2 XDCC Send #1 ...for the second file /ctcp useless2 XDCC Send #2...and so on. Now the other type of servers (more popular/older system) ( e.g. #betas-servers) is where you type the trigger (ususally beginning with !) and you get a chat window which you use sort of like dos like gs said. The basic commands are: dir - list files (always use this as the first command) cd <directory> - where <directory> is the folder to which you want to switch to. cd.. - go back to parent directory get <filename> - where <filename> is the full name of the file you want to download. Example: -funkdat- File Server Online Triggers:«!funk» Sends:«0/1» Queues:«0/10» Accessed:«1125 times» Online:«0/1» RCPS:«114.3 Kbs by admin» Served:«45.4G in 280 files» Current BW:«0 cps» AQT:«No Wait» MOTD: -= Windows.2000.SP4.Build.4.062-xBetas and more =- Here you would type the trigger !funk and when the chat window comes up (you may have to click yes if auto accept chat is not on) you would then type dir. Something similar to this comes up: <funkdat> [\*.*] <funkdat> APPS <funkdat> GAMES <funkdat> INCINERATE <funkdat> MSDOWNLD.TMP <funkdat> RECYCLER <funkdat> SYSTEM VOLUME INFORMATION <funkdat> WUTEMP <funkdat> avg6db_f.dat 270 kb <funkdat> End of list. now to go to say the apps you would type cd apps . After this you get something like this: <funkdat> [\apps] Now you have to type dir again to list the contents of that dir. Get it? Now to download a file, you would simply type get avg6db_f.dat for example to get avg6db_f.dat. Now you have to make sure that the file you want to get is in the current directory you're in. If you followed my commands exactly, you would not be able to download this file because the working directory is \apps because it is the last directory I switched to. So now if I would want to download avg6db_f.dat, I would need to type cd.. in order to go back to the main directory, and then type get avg6db_f.dat to download avg6db_f.dat. I hope this isn't too confusing for you. Please ask any questions that you may have. Oh yes there's many other commands but these are the basics and the last thing is if you want to list all servers in a channel that are serving files, type !list. Hope this helps you people. |

This isn't really an IRC guide so much as it is an XDCC guide.

or you be extremly lazy and go to www.xdccspy.com serch for you want. The click the bot the name. It will auto open mirc and you will proceed to the server and channel. And then once in the channel just hit crtl-v to paste the bot name file pack amd send command. It does it all for you
AND EVERYONE GET YOU BUTTS IN THE DH CHANNEL! |

![]() This is somewhat akin to saying "the WWW is better than the Internet." XDCC is a method of sharing files over the existing Internet Realy Chat network. |

Well u know what I mean, XDCC is better than DCC. I just like the way it's so simple and takes much less work (typing commands) on your part.
