Actually the first shows started tonight @8pm in most cities (the studio wants to make some more cash this week). I'm gonna catch the first show of the day on Tuesday it'll be packed and I'll probably have to line up for an hour or two but I don't fuckin' care

Great movie! The CGI in it, is some of the best I have ever seen and the amount of lame jokes / love-story is keept to a minimum, which properly has something to do with Spielberg "helping" out Michael Bay.

I gave it 9 stars on IMDB, where it's avg. rating is just below 9.

Leaving in an hour to see it, hope there isn't a big lineup, but if there is my plan is to yell out loud "I can't believe they killed Optimus Prime again." and when they start balling their eyes out I'll slip to the front of the line.

obviously none of you guys. I guess i was hoping for it to make some sense, but it was something you would write on a napkin in a pub and all your mates would laugh at and say "dude, wise up".

I guess if you smother a movie in cool effects the mass public like it, after all look at the matrix. I still think they should have made keano reeves CGI, probably got better acting out of it.

Some movies need a bigger plot and has to contain the deeper meaning of life, but Transformers from my point of view doesn't need it, because it's well adjusted action in high gear and extremly entertaining.

decent special effects film. but i tend to agree, i have seen so many of these movies you are just waiting for the stereotypical plot then trying to ignore it for a few hours while focusing totally on the effects hammering your senses left, right and centre.

uncool guy (main lead) meets girl with asshole boyfriend, guy wins girl. only thing is this time instead of gangs of other people or dealing with teenage angst or family problems, its a few very well rendered robots from space attemping to capture a silly box device to save mankind.

tons of cliches, overacting, silly plot, and corny one liners, but still worth a watch, just don't expect anything earthshattering. one to buy for the big HD tv I think when its available.

I was disappointed with optimus prime though, he was a bit of a pussy. Megatron looked much better, and I didn't like how he went out, pretty lame ending.

With all the poor movies being put out as of late, I was very doubtfull of this one.
I was a big transformer fan as a child, and had the majority of the toys!
Metroplex was my favorite

(the one that formed a city and battlestation)

i agree with Zardon and brutus, but i cant say its not what i expected. I felt there was to little transformer involvement in the whole thing, the autobots personalities didnt go anything beyond the default cpla sayings known to the cartoon, and the decepticons were barley even in the movie. Though like brutus said, we got the complete story of the uncool guy.

Anyone catch a trailer prior to the movie, didnt list a name but a date, 1-18-08, was a farewell party of some sort then flaming balls kinda resembling the ones the autobots rode to earth where flying around, then the statue of liberty's head came rollin down the road. anyone know anything about it?

I didn't like the way the ending came so abruptly, all this buildup and then it was over. I kinda wish some of the final fight would have been in the open it was impossible to see details of what was happening with buildings, cars and transformers all filling up the screen at the same time.
