how to make baby sleep

Why my newborn son won't sleep in my arm? He only sleeps well in grandma's arm. I am crazy jealous. I am dead serious. Somebody give me some real wise advice that will works plz. This just drives me nuts. I know I also need to grow up.
What's grandma's trick? The grandma won't be with us for long. What if, later, when she is not here with us anymore?

Find something with grandma's perfume on it or anything that might smell like grandma (oh i can already hear the laughter and jokes coming from what i just typed) but i am being serious. Hold the item with her perfume on it while you hold your baby. Then beg grandma for her secret! Congrats on the new addition to the family though and i hope you find your trick to getting that baby to fall asleep in your arms for ya!

Well i'm on our 3rd baby boy so i can tell you it takes time for the baby to come around to the daddy. All of our boy's did not like te be with me at all. The more time I spent with them the more they started to sleep in my arms and let me feed them out of the bottle. Trust me after a while you will want to have someone else holding the baby. Anthony our 9 month was being nursed and did not want anyone but mommy, when my wife was in the hospital for surgery 2 months ago it took 4 days for anthony to eat without his mom but now he won't leave me alone.

LOL

I would try the pillow over the face technique. My parents used it on me all the time, and I have no damage brain.

What a waste... Better to drink the bottle of Jack Daniels yourself, then you won't care if the baby is asleep or not.

Here are the steps to success!

1. Play some Rammstein (something fast, load, and with lots of explosions, try Feuer Frei!!!)

2. Have some jack daniels, and while you're at it give the baby a sip.

3. Then the old pillow over the face ( or plastic bags work even better ).

NOTE: No one actually try this stuff. If you haven't figured it out, it's a JOKE!

simple. be silent.... and walk around slowly with baby in arms. try to have baby's head facing over shoulders. works w/ my baby brother at least .... but I'm not a daddy

Just a reminder: do NOT sing any form of lullabye. daddies' voices aren't very um..... pleasant... and therefore they inhibit sleep.

The more time you spend holding the baby the more it will become attached to you. My middle child, who is a boy also took some time warming up to me. If your wife is breast feeding have her express a *small* amount of breast milk on you or your chest. You don't want so much that it is going to cause the baby to want to be fed, just a drop or two. This may help to soothe it and keep it in your arms longer. If she is not breast feeding pick up a bottle and feed it as much as possible. The more time you spend with your son the more he will want you to spend.

Now, he is less fussy and go to sleep in my arm quite often. I am super happy for that but another thing came up. He's got a little jaundice. We're instructed to feed him formulas instead of breast milk for 24 hours. Also, the weather has been not so sunny in this area nowadays. He's been throwing up for the last 4 meals. I am not happy again. Hope this jaundice will clear up quickly. My wife is crying, too. I hope she doesn't.

hold him close to your breast so he can hear your hardbeat and a gentile slow rocking, warped in a banket or something that is going to keep him warm (make sure it snug fitting or it wont work) should put him right to sleep ... it simuates the kind of feeling they had in the womb ..... I learned this in our hospitals parenting/prebirth classes and they showd us how to wrap him up in a blabnket in the hospital when we had our son .....
