Apple might really mess up future ipods/iphone

So I read this today and was shocked someone even was thinking this was a good idea for one second?

The idea sounds great on paper but come on one plug per device and no others will work sounds like a pure scam to make more money if you happen to lose your cable and or need more than one?

To be honest I would have taken Sony to do something like this to add to there already crap DRM protection but not Apple.

I know some of you have the computer keys for your cars and for those of you like myself who have to get a new one if you lose it or whatever the reason knows it costs a lot...

There can be nothing good to come of this if in fact they switch to this. It sounds good but it will not work. I would have to guess you could only buy a new cord if you either send it in or go to the apple store that may or may not be around you!

Maybe this is what other companies need to make a come back when people stop buying the Ipod since they don't want to deal with this! I am waiting and waiting for someone to come out with something just as good or better than the ipod and will be first in line to buy it but so far nothing lol... All I know is if they switch to this new idea I will just buy a zune.

I agree that's a cheap tactic by Apple.

Brutality will become famous soon enough

Soon they're going to ban all other earphones on iPods and make people use only Apple's earphones/plugs. Meh, cheap cheap cheap sucky!

I hope thats a joke lol. But really I think that is one thing they would have a hard time banning!

Anyways I kind of always looked up to Apple for a company that gave you a lot for your money but if they do this I will lose all respect for them. I am not someone who would ever switch to mac OSX or buy a laptop from them just to run xp but they did nail the ipod well!

Having just had my iPod stolen, I can see the silver lining to this dark cloud. The referenced article is very poor and really doesn't explain anything, so I think its a rush to judgement saying its a terrible idea. I also wonder how many cords someone would need for an iPod, has anyone here ever had one break? I never lost mine (and I have three young kids who take everything), nor can I imagine anyone i know personally would lose theirs. I imagine Apple would devise some way of getting a replacement cord should the need arise.

I guess I'm just happy they are getting proactive about detering thefts of their devices. i wish more companies that sell expensive, high demand, gadgets would do something with the same intentions.

MiDri is on a distinguished road

Well I can tell you that it is super annoying to only be able to sync videos/music/pictures from my main pc to my iphone -- if I try to sync from any other machine it will erase all synced material from the phone ;p

Yeah that is one thing that drives me nuts!!!!!! Tons of people have more than one computer at there house I see no reason why you can't sign that thing to more than one computer...

Apple users have a nice program that takes that away, but it's only for mac users and I have yet to find something that works for windows like that.

All you have to do is spell Itunes backwards! Google is your friend on that one!

Consider the source. It looks like The Inquirer is written by a bunch of 5th graders.
