Sony 46" Projection Sony KP-46WT500 severe picture issue
My HDTV just a few minutes ago acted up out of nowhere, I have the Sony KP-46WT500 46" HDTV. It is approaching 3 years of age, and just suddenly the TV started displaying in like a 3DTV mode. All the colors/tint is messed, picture tint creates a shadow that is tilted out of nowhere. It could be similar to a damaged picture tube in a CRT TV but this is projection. It has got me worried because a repair could be a huge amount of money to repair such a TV. Not a matter of simply $200 bucks. I am not a fan of the older Sony TV's but the Bravias sure have had a huge turnaround.
I tried fooling around with flash focus, tried my PS2 no luck. I watched a DVD last night, my mom was watching Young and the Restless and Victor Newman suddenly looked more weird than he really does look . WTF can I do to further diagnose or solve the issue?

Contact Sony.. They are good about fixing stuff, even after the warrenty has expired. I own everything Sony, as I love them heh.
I love my CRT Wega, best picture hands down. And I also own projection and lcd displays, but nothing beats my Sony Wega heh. |

Depending on the type of projection system used ( i beleive there are 2 specific designs)... it could be a fairly easy fix....
But it'd involve tearing it somewhat appart.

Yeah there's front and rear projection tvs your'e prolly gonna have to establish what type it is first, it'll say in the manual i think (if you still have it, there's always our good friend GOOGLE).
But yeah try what spock says and get on the blower to sony, they should be able to sort it. EDIT : It's a rear projection =D |
