Sci-Fi movies.
Share your favourite or just some good enough sci-fi movies that more people should or could see.
Blade Runner Blade Runner (1982) is my favourite and I also suggest Colossus: The Forbin Project Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970) A SUPER cool movie that the Terminator films were sort of based upon, or at least influenced by. EDIT: PLEASE, don't give away any spoilers.

The Last Starfighter (1984) The Last Starfighter Movie -The 80s Rewind «
I'm not entirely sure it's worth viewing today since it was so long since I saw it, but at the time it was shining. I think I've seen Colossus but remember very little of it. I shall endeavor to see it again. |

That old film with Raquel Welch and her marvelous funbags - may have been called 'The Land that Time Forgot'. Alien and Star Wars Trilogy. 'Into the Mouth of Madness', 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' (also a great read).

Amazon.com: Blade Runner (Five-Disc Complete Collector's Edition) [Blu-ray]: DVD: Harrison Ford,Sean Young,Rutger Hauer,Ridley Scott And I read that people are again experiencing problems with Warner Bros releases of Blu-ray. Blu-ray.com - Warner Brothers Blu-ray Blunder... Again Back on topic: Has anyone seen the Final Cut of Blade Runner? I heard that there is an added twist to the film. I would say what it is but I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

I can't believe no one mentioned "Howard the Duck". Very disappointing.

something i have never understood about sci fi movies in general. they generally make lots of $$ - usually in direct proportion to the energy/money put in. there is a high demand for quality scifi, there is an overwhelming anount of great material, & yet most scifi movies are subpar productions & there just hasnt been that many made. the same can be said for fantasy movies to.
i realise that this is starting to change, but the movie industry is definetly screwing the pooch imo in both quality & quantity of these types of movies. hell, scifi channel/other tv has done a better job than the hollywood in a lot of cases. & dont get me wrong, there are quite a few good movies out there, but i think quite a few of them are considered good because the bar is pretty low.
