I just had to go rummaging through the trash of our block after I realised I threw away a P4 and 2GB Ram on christmas eve by accident.

Ahahahaha...sounds like something I would do with expensive and hard-to-replace items.

Fortunately I am tidy even with my garbage. The motherboard had died early summer and I had left the cpu and ram installed. Put the mobo back in its antistatic bag, back inside the original box with manuals etc. So christmas eve I took it down to the big communal bins with other boxes and black sacks during a clear-out etc. Hopefully no condensation or anything bad had happened. Only realised when I was online today looking for a compatible board and was thinking about the p4 and the last time I saw it. Then it dawned on me...

Two weeks ago I accidently smashed my mobile phone at work in the bin after an annoying discussion

I forgot to take it out at evening, so next day I have to get it out the big trash carrier outside the building

Consider yourself lucky that you remembered it. I have only once thrown something to the garbage, but I only thought about it weeks later. It was a nice panasonic video camera a few years ago. I still feel stupid over it.
