shoot em up! ?

Anyone seen this film with clive owen as the lead?

I had heard it was a great action film, but holy christ on a crutch it was the pits ! It felt like the script was written on the back of a matchbox in a bar. absolutely terrible.

Some good action scenes but man was a chore watching it.

Anyone see any good films last year? ive some time off work and I want to watch a few great films. Please only recommend films with a decent plot, im a sucker for a good story.

I watched that movie a couple nights ago. I've never seen so many people die to a carrot. I think it was just mindless entertainment and it's pretty badass as far as that goes.

I found the first 10 minutes of Shoot Em Up were horrible and I could barely watch it BUT it gets better in the 2nd half of the movie and actually becomes fun to watch. Bare in mind, this is a stupid movie by nature, don't go in expecting Children of Men.

You want good movies huh?

Here's the best ones out right now:

No Country for Old Men
90% of this movie is absolutely incredible. Nonstop tension and a villain only matched by Arnold as The Terminator. You'll either love or hate the ending but this movie is a must see (I didn't like the ending). It's a flawless movie no matter how you look at it. I saw it once in the theatre and watched it last night on my PC.

Charlie Wilson's War
Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts and yet it's still great

This movie is kinda like West Wing mixed with Lord of War and all the performances are excellent plus it's quite funny. Seymour Hoffman (played Capote) is the real star of this.

Other decent movies
American Gangster & Sweeny Todd.

The only other great movie I know of is There Will be Blood but that opens on the 9th, it's supposed to be the #1 or #2 best movie of the year so that's next on my list.

shoot'em up sounds good but the previews show
the story looking weak. I'm still going to watch it but
I dunno know if I'll like it. I'll let you all know how it goes

omgas picks are both awsome movies. 2 of the best films last year. 3:10 to yuma comes out on dvd next week, if you like westerns i highly rec it.
pluvious mase the best call for that genre - smokin' aces. about as good as it gets for a straightup action/shoot em up type movie.
the kingdom & eastern promises are both excellent movies to.

Shoot'em up doesn't even try being a serious movie. It's a "take some popcorn and swich the brain off" type of a movie, and it's excellent at that.

I have to disagree on Smokin Aces, it's basically just an assemble cast version of Shoot em Up. It's entertaining in the same way the Oceans 1" movies are. I'll 2nd the vote for 3:10 to Yuma, it's a fantastic western. You didn't specify whether you wanted to see movies in theatre or on DVD but I might as well mention that almost all movies mentioned are on bittorrent if you look around

seen... I got bored turned it off
after about 20-30 minutes of the retarded ness. They tried to jam to much movie

In all fairness, it does get better but you've got to suffer to get to the good stuff. It could have been worse, Crank was 5 times as bad as Shoot em Up but for the entire movie...not one second redeemed itself

but it was at lest watchable, and understandable despite the drugs, sex, and violence

crank would win an "alright" out of me but i wouldnt watch it again. With the end being the biggest big WTF of the hole movie.

with shoot em up They took a story that sounds comic booky and then went way too
far fecteched. I know eveythinme I look for someone not wanting to be found I find
them 2 seconds later with no leg work. repeatededly
