Jiggawatt

Vamp,
here's the answere to your question

1. Jiggawatt is a powerful rock/funk/hiphop band out of san diego....

2. jiggawatt: Unit of Measurement of Power in Back to the Future

3. jiggawatt: Unit of measure, used to describe how enjoyable something may be. Derived from rap artist Jay-Z's frequently employed euphemism "jigga."

1 jiggawatt = 1000 maiggawatts = 1,000,000 keelaw watts.

If you watch the DVD with commentary on, they talk about that. There really is no such thing as a "Jiggawatt", it was a mispronounciation of the word "Gigawatt" writer/producer Bob Gale and directer Robert Zemeckis heard somebody say (I think it was in a meeting). They had no idea what it was, so they just wrote it as "Jiggawatt" in the script.

Excellent movie. I'm still waiting to get the "corrected" discs 2 and 3 back from Universal. They sure are slow about mailing replacements...

I remember that they either had scenes in the wrong order or cropped scenes the wrong way, don't remember exactly... months old news now.

The widescreen discs were misframed in some scenes, cutting off part of the picture. They've been fixed for a while, but it seems that the fixed version hasn't hit store shelves yet (at least none of the stores here). Universal has no plans to recall the "defective" ones because in their opinion the problem is not noticable. Personally, I feel that if they went through the trouble of reframing the discs, I better damn well get the good ones .

If you have the widescreen DVDs (this does not apply to the full screen version) and you want to get the updated discs 2 and 3, call 1-888-703-0010. Give the operator your name and address and they will mail you a prepaid envelope which you can use to send in your discs for replacements. It takes some time, but hey, it's free.

As long as it doesn't look like this, I'd say you're fine:

It should be showing a bit more on the lower edge, where Doc is pressing a button on the jacket.
Not sure how much was cut off I suppose if you're not specifically paying attention, you may not notice anything wrong,
but there are other scenes where the bad cropping is more apparent.

Well, I can just see the button being pressed in my one - but only just.
