Gym was.... eventful

To say the least yesterday's gym sesh was eventful.
There's a guy that turns up every week, pays his £3 and sits around shining a laser pointer into everyone's eyes. A few people have been injured because of him doing this, me included and we're all getting sick of it.

Someone was shining the pointer around, i don't think it was this particular guy but i told them to "Turn that fucking pointer off, PLEASE, it's really annoying and people are getting hurt". Maybe 5 minutes later i was completely knackered from doing kongs so i took a break and watched some flips so i could pick up the technique.

First thing i realised was that i was falling, rather quickly. Next thing i realised, someone was stood over me screaming "FUCKING GET OUTSIDE, NOW". Turns out it's the guy that shines the pointer round, He picks me up by my neck and slams me down onto my feet, and keeps screaming "FUCKING GET OUTSIDE", i put my hands up and said "Woah dude, calm down, if i've said anything out of line i'm sorry, what have i done?". So he says "YOU CALLED ME A FAT CUNT YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT", i said "Dude, i didn't call you a fat cunt alright? I don't use that word because it's out of line", No idea what was going through his head but he just suddenly decides to nut me, i stumble backwards and said, "Dude for fuck sake what is your problem? I didn't call you a fat cunt". A few guys came over and dragged him off, leaving me stood there with a few people around me, shaken up.

Eventually he gets kicked out of the gym, and he stands on the road outside for 45 minutes occasionally stopping to shout "I'm gonna fucking stab you dickhead". Irene the gym coach told us to stay behind until he went, so we did.
I was starting to panic because i didn't think we'd get out without having to face him again, so i picked up my phone and tried calling my mum and dad, neitheir of them picked up. I'm starting to panic more, so i call my grandma and tell her i've been attacked, i'm more or less fine.
I'm still shaken p and i feel my voice go and end up slumped over a vault box crying down the phone i don't know what to do because he's stood outside waiting to batter me.

Calmed down a bit later and eventually he cleared off, most likely to wait round the corner for me because everyone was telling him to leave. Got a lift home off my mate's mum and stayed at joe's that night.

that guy mustve been retarded, theres those types of people around here all the time. theyre usually people on a mix of drugs, usually some bit of steroids and coke...these are usually big people so carelessness is not a good thing..

if it was just some small dude then hes probably some emo that tries to act tough.

they're pretty fun to mess with though..... though you do gotta watch your surroundings or else you could get in some deep shit as shown in what you said, they can and usually will try to stab you if they get a chance.

im usually one of those guys thats too big to mess with as its not going to be some easy take down so they dont mess. some also tend to be afraid of me because i can take almost any pain and seem like nothing even bothered me they think its like freaky or something....

I was getting grief off someone like this but the moment he tried to start something (He spat in my face) I went for him with a big arse metal kitchen ladle seeing as he was way bigger than me but hr never gave me any grief after that.

Had a similiar experience showing someone how to use the bicep machine, a jealous boyfriend waited till I was outside to pounce on me and my 40 plus old body responded as good as it did when I was a wee lad. He put his hands around my waist and attempted to place both hands around my neck. I remained stiff as a board for a moment while he shouted obscenties at me and asked me how good it felt now, etc, etc. As soon as I felt him attempt to push me down I immediately elbowed left and right to his face and he released his grip enough to allow me to drop and grab his right leg and I fell to the ground and hyperextended his knee until he screamed and then vomited on the ground and assumed the fetal postion. I stood up and shouted for the authorities to come and eventually they did. His girlfriend I assume gave him a kick to his chest and told him he was a pig and left me standing there asking this guy if he needed an ambulance. Apparently this fellow was using some kind of drug or something because he kept throwing up and grabbing his knee.
Mousey I learned long ago to either run or stand my ground depending on the size of my opponent but I am glad you didnt get hurt. Some people are crazy and they will try to kill you even if you win the first round. I learned to break knees and elbows and hit the testicles or bowels or sternum to get away or damage an attacker. I learned from someone who teaches people to defend themselve and the first opponent you have to overcome is yourself. I am glad you used some discipline or common sense and avoided a conflict, but be aware that there are people out there that just use rage to attack others and hurt them for their own personal validation. It is a new dimension to bullying and anyone can do it if they allow rage or anger to overcome them. Never lose your head and always have a plan B and you will avoid lots of terrible situations, but always be ready to use whatever force is necessary to defend yourself just short of killing someone. Training your body also means training your mind not to lose your temper as well. Bravo to anyone that can master themselves as well as their opponents and avoid conflicts if possible.

Perhaps i forgot to mention this guy was like twice my height, he was foaming at the mouth and we were in a crowded gym.
No doubt he'll try kicking off again next week but i just don't fight, i don't like hurting people that's why i keep my hands up and run away. (Hence the mouse element? :/)

If i've got no choice i'll definately stand my ground, fuck the consequences i'm going for the throat if that's what it takes. He took my by surprise from behind and i didn't have chance to save myself from the impact when he first shoved me, i was dazed and a bit shocked, i might have hit my head on the way down. It all happened that damned fast i can't remember.

My problem is, even though i can take a punch i can't take what's going on in my head afterwards.
After the conflict i tried phoning both my parents and neither picked up, like i'm sure you read i ended up breaking down on the phone to my grandmother. i was sobbing uncontrollably because i was just so scared, i wasn't in control and that's not something i can deal with.

thanx Blue, but Mousey, there will always be someone bigger, faster, stronger, etc. so just deliberately showing your assailant or opponent that you mean business is all you can do, especially if you warn them. Nothing is more unsettling to a bully than a potentiol victem that does not lose his or her head. I recall my third wife getting me interested in defense training and it paid off. In the Phillipines when many of us were set upon by some benny boys intending to shake us down a show of solidarity and calm demeanor in the face of young lads screaming Tagalog and threatening us with roundhouse kicks paid off. The Phillipine police however were less tolerant than we were and caned a few of the lads until the cried.
I have taken a whoopen now and then as a lad and a few times as a drunken sailor in Thailand and Dubai and I learned to measure what I say and do by a realistic outcome. You cant outwit crazy people though, best to run or immobilize them and then run.
No dishonor in fighting another day unless it is the principal of thing you need to prove.
When I was a kid my father made my brother and I fight with gloves on and off just to burn off our energy. My father was a boxer in school and very fast. My brother inherited the pugilistic desire but I never did, preferring to avoid conflict. But my father taught me how to take a few blows too so learning from a defense teacher is a good thing to do IMO. My father got me aquainted to pain at an early age and I learned balance and poise and endurance because of it. I hope you dont have gangs there where you live because self defense gets problematic then. Good luck mate.

I've got 6 years of karate experience under my belt but i've never really used it, the only thing that's stuck is the habitual things like stances and straight wrists when you punch ect.
Besides i'm confident if i run off this guy isn't gonna catch me, because i've got my pk as well.
My parents have said that because this guy's white and not black like the vast majority of that area i should be safe in the knowledge he won't turn up with his entire family each holding a knife. But i know the kind of people this guy's part of, wannabe tough guys and goons. They won't turn up with knives, they'll have planks of wood with rusty nails. I don't know the local area, and the chances are i'll end up getting lost on a side street with nobody around.

Man, I've never heard of such a basket case at the gym before how does he even get away with pointing a laser at people and not being tossed out immediately? I'd never advise you to use violence but remember you've got plenty of weapons around (steel bars and weights lying around) to even up the size advantage. Not a great idea as you'd surely get banned from the gym but you're too young to do jail time (if you smacked him in the face with a piece of equipment

I was still in shock for a while after he attacked me, i don't know his name, i can't remember what he looks like eitheir.
I still can't remember calling anyone a fat cunt, i'm positive i never passed any remarks waiting in any queues eitheir. On the other hand I wonder if while being at the gym lazing people, he didn't dream of shooting everyone in the room. I'm sure you'll be extra careful in the next few days and after that I don't suppose you'll need to worry about him anymore.
