im sorry but im still a firm believer that this film is a strong case of style over content. im sure it makes more sense with the third in hindsight, but frankly thats impossible to say atm as they didnt release both together nor does it stand on its own as a great script, in fact I would go as far to say the script was pretty weak, oh yeah and more importantly im old and dont have much patience anymore to sit and listen to some old duffer waffling on about past matrixs and alternative paths, what will be, and what wont be, all in the attempt to make people think "wow this script is complex, it must be good".
I enjoyed the film for its effects, but if I had to watch it again (which I dont think I could stomach), id be hitting the fast forward on the remote to get to the fighting scenes. |

Zardon makes good points on all accounts. I don't think this script was intelligent at all -- it reeked of pseudo-intellectualism and contrived complexity. It definitely had great effects and fantastic action scenes, but it cannot stand on its own as a movie as the first one did. I consider it one half of a larger Matrix Reloaded + Matrix Revolutions whole.
