Matrix 2. the architect, anyone love to kick his ass?

Well I saw Matrix 2 and while I thoroughly enjoyed the film overall, with some great effects I have to make a call on the script. im hoping it will make more sense after I see the third one.

watching the movie and looking around in the cinema at the architects 10 minute waffle near the end, everyone was just looking at each other laughing and saying WTF is he talking about ! at least the drugs stores sold alot of headache tablets after it was over.

maybe id need to see it again, but I would also say that a great deal of it is style over content. interesting, and ill be watching the 3rd film with great interest, but im praying the architect wont be making a reappearance.

I agree, I felt like I was about to laugh at the whole deal with the architect as well. His ramblings were so quick that they could barely be comprehended.

I hope if we do see him again it will be only for a brief second while neo destroys him.

I didn't like the organization of the script myself. I believe it would have been better if they had developed the plot more over the entire movie instead of cramming it towards the end.

Just my take.

as long as he dies slowly and we all get to see it, after putting us all through that 10 minute waffle. ill be happy.

The Matrix Reloaded, like the first Matrix, requiers you to see it more than once to fully understand it.

As for the Architect, I can tell you with a great deal of certainity that he will make a reappearance. Remeber what Neo said to him? "If I were you, I'd hope we don't meet again". That line in it's self says he will be back in The Matrix Revolutions, and Neo will probably kick his ass.

I'm sure he'll get a chance to speak first. As sure as I am you will see The Matrix Revolutions regardless.

ill make sure I have the mute button handy then. or a pair of ear muffs. im still trying to stop them bleeding. I actually saw keano reeves tilting to the side during the speech. in fact if you can raise the brightness you can see his eyes behind the shades are shut in one scene.

I liked the movie overall, but I too felt that it was rather overdone in the end. The "architect" very much reminded me of that guy in Edward Scissorhands. Very boring, quick, and ... um, pointless. / (Btw, first post. )

OMG NOOOO!!!! THe Architect was my favorite part <--- Flame Bate I know

But seriously I liked what he brought to the movie, brought to the point that Neo isn't someone who accepts his fate, and gives an out that all our life is scripted and planned, but yet we can make a choice, but then is it a choice.

That and when there talking about the Evils of the Human Race and George W Bush flashes on the monitors is quiet amusing

I need to see that movie again

I admit that he played a semi-integral part in the movie, but I think the way that he was represented was rather bad / clashy. I mean, wtf? Some guy living in a plain white room? I know that the Matrix isn't supposed to reflect reality (lol, so ironic, that statement) but come on ... it's, just, ugh, dumb.

If anything, try getting the Animatrix. It's basically a handful of nine and half minute shorts involving certain aspects of the Matrix world, even a two part that explains how the Matrix came about! There are some real cool moments, even one that's really awe inspiring (World Record), in these shorts, so get it already!

I meant that it's on DVD. You could probably get it through other means like I did.

~eyeguy616
Edit: You can download The Second Renaissance Parts 1 and 2 from http://www.intothematrix.com/ , but the DVD versions are much cleaner, and there's more than just those four on that website.

I think you are forgetting one minor point here - Unless I'm missing something he isn't a guy, he's a program.

To be honest, compared to some of the slooow, slooow scenes and drawn out pointless dialogue in the movie, I thought the part with the Architect was just fine.

Yeah hanners, I guess you are right. Seriously though, and with all my tongue in cheek joking in this thread yesterday. I really do think the film was very style over content. Great effects and camerawork, visuals. but the film left me lacking.

Yeah, although I'm still looking forward to the final film, I totally agree with you.

I think the big problem is that the whole 'Matrix-style' has been done to death since the original movie was released, to the point where the sequel felt more like a parody of the original than anything at times.

It also seemed to me like some of the least important scenes (i.e. the rave scene) went on for what seemed like forever, whereas some of the major moments (Neo's final decision as to what door to take after the yawn-inducing-for-Zardon Architect dialogue) were over in a flash.

Speaking of which, what was the point of that rave scene? Great wet t-shirt contest though it was, by my calculations it went on for at least 17 hours.

I would have to agree with Zardon on the syle over content issues (admittedly great style!!). The delivery of the Architect dialogue was very quick and in one or two places was hard to follow the logic but I suspect that may have been deliberate...

The one thing I have a real problem with is the vaguely unsatisfactory feeling I was left with at the end, The first movie had a definitive start and end but the 2nd one has been left hanging in preparation for the third movie, which lets face it we're all going to go and see anyway so what was the point of that?

My only other quibble is with Keanu Reeves, as my girlfriend said after she came out of the movie "God love him, he's nice to look at but he can't act!". At one or two points in the movie his dialogue delivery was completly soulless, it sounded like he was reading his lines off an idiot card...

Ok well i feel that the Architect sence was much needed in the movie if you understood what he was taking about. You have to understand what he was talking about in order to get the whole point. Apart from the whold movie being CGI i thought it was ok and i cant wait till the 3rd one comes out.

I think hes seeing the movie again with a notepad and a pen handy, because that is the only way you can possibly grasp everything he said.
