Meh, I honestly don't think it's a big deal. I don't smoke in front of my kids, but you could do a lot worse.

As far as the kid having the pack of smokes in hand, it looks worse than it is. It's amazing just how fast kids get into stuff, regardless of what or where it is. Especially at the age her kids are. Anyway, not that big of a deal. I think Allan is right, the media just loves to give her a hard time.

Anyways, as Viking said, it looks worse than it is. Not only do kids emulate what they see, but they also get into things faster than you'd think humanly possible. Turn your head for 2 seconds, and the kid could be in the middle of a busy street, or sitting on top of 6 foot fridge dumping the entire contents of your spice rack that was in a cabinet above the fridge all over the floor (and if all the cabinet drawers beside the fridge are closed, how exactly did the kid get up there?), or sticking keys into the electrical socket blowing them straight across the room, not once, but twice in same day (my Mom swears my hair stood on it's end for 2 weeks straight).

BTW, Judas, you and me both. I thought it was cool to smoke, and drink alcohol... that was until my uncle gave me both to try. I've never touched either since that day. Can't even stand the smell of either them too.

CD's, that is a very good point. Most people crave the desire to be famous. Would be very low down on my list of desires!

The way I see Britney is as a very lonely and messed up individual. Sadly the press love mocking and making fun of her which I find quite irritating. I am not a fan of her music however I think she really does get a hard time from the media on both sides of the pond. I hate this "self-righteousness" that some press are showing. Most of them are a pack of dogs anyway lets be honest.

Its just the way the press works really and they have ruined many famous people in the past. Hopefully she has a lot of good people around her to help.

My dad gave me a drink of his St. Louis "light" beer when I was a kid and thought it was absolutely stellar to drink/smoke, one good way to put a kid off the stuff I'll tell you that, I did drink when I was 19 to impress my then friends all the way through to 21, quite about a year ago and only drink on a special occasion; have one if I do and 9 out of 9.3 times drink wine rather than beer.

As for smoking a bunch of gang members pushed me up against a wall as I was coming home from the shops one day and forced me to take a puff, I coughed like a mother@%$*#$! and needless to say I never touched that stuff again, not even once. Where I work most everyone smokes but there is an outdoor smoking area and people respect that but the residue left on people's clothes/breath sometimes irritates me but people know that by now and do their best not to smell like Solid Snake around me.

To be perfectly honest with you, smoking doesn't bother me anymore. Me and my best mate Joe used to meet up every saturday, we'd go to another mate of our's, Jade's and we would get absolutely wankered.
Stumbling back home with Joe at 4 in the morning was certainly a time to remember (what little of it i could recollect lol) but getting pissed like that is only fun for a bit, it's also really really fucking expensive. Now we just meet up and have a couple of beers at his and go see some of our other mates since we fell out with Jade over w.e

To even further that, I think one (a doctor) could make a point that she is mentally ill, or at least unstable. But because she's rich and famous, it's ok for the tabloids to exploit it and people buy right into it. Famous people are tolerable so long as not famous people can look at them and feel superior. The tabloids provide that to the masses.

Well actually the smell of cigarettes doesen't really bother me, and I especially enjoy the smell of gasoline (I'm pretty sure a lot of people do) but just knowing that the cigarette smoke is damaging my lungs and might possibly add to problems in my health in future, I don't appreciate anyone smoking in the vicinity when I'm around or in close proximity to me, know I sounded a little harsh lol, but don't worry, if you're a smoker I won't beat you up/start some beef with you just because you are smoking, I'd rather move away or do what I have to as quick as I can and move away, if you're going to be working with me for quite a while, I will kindly ask you to put out your cigarette in a in a humane, orderly fashion so as not to piss you or me off as a result or so as not to offend.

Britney has very little money, and until at least Dec 31st her dad is in complete control of it. She can't make any legal or financial decisions til then without him signing off on it.
