As I said in my first post in this thread, the worst thing that happened was that a few more lines appeared in the forum and a, probably temporary, skin and some ads. Though I don't remember about forums, the rest have been done before, and from what I remember they were quite successful for all. Not exactly a big deal, is it? It's not like we now have to end each post with Hail YoyoTech!, so yes, overreaction.
I do believe that when someone complains in any way about things given for free, it is at best, a miscalculation from that person.
As for IEMC, if what he said he meant it seriously, then it is just plain stupid. BUT, I believe or perhaps I want to believe, that since YoYoTech is not Amazon or Intel or even Dabs, in terms of size, then he meant it as a (bad) joke. The words that he used, major corporation show that to me.

Well then it just shows the ignorance of people. YoYotech is an enthusiast store in london which is probably one of the coolest places you can go in the UK to get hardware. They arent big like overclockers.co.uk or scan, but damn they know what they are talking about.

As far as I can make out, Driverheaven are giving Yoyotech a section on their forum for support and hoping that our community join in the discussions. It also means (if you look at yoyotechs forum link) that people will come here and hopefully join up and join in outside the yoyotech forums.

Its a win win situation and quite a few major sites do it. Hexus and scan, and hardocp and newegg for example.

As for the rest of this thread, Im not going to comment but I will say that some of you need to either try running a site like this or get another hobby, its embarassing to read.

I bet most of you in here struggle with maintaining a blog or a myspace page, quite funny when I read "OMG a new site skin is up, I hate it" or "OMFG I see antec in the header as a skin sponsor, DH is sold out".

I certainly cant see this doing most of you any favours mind you, Sure way to not get noticed is to start insulting everything, then when YOU need help no one cares

Is the site being Hack? My gold member gone at least my posted count still the same. What heck going on? Is Forum getting optimized? Is that why we seeing this crazy stuff today? lol. I'm confused? By way the XFI drivers for vista and xp doing great got couple people testing on Vista side I let you know.

....I didn't diss the company. I don't imply anything bad about them. I am speaking just for the size of the company, nothing else, and how that perhaps could fuel a possible bad joke by IEMC.

id just like to say a couple things, i never said that i thought what IMEC was funny, but i didn't think he meant to offend anyone with what he said, so i did my best to try and prevent a huge incident..... we all know how horrible that turned out instead of preventing one, i provoked one.

im very thankful for what all the admins, Zardon, Verdian3, and Craig5320 as well as everyone else who contributed to make DH the great place it is and what they have done to give everything to us for free.

i have always wanted to do my best for the DH community as i can't donate money but i have donated as much of my time and effort to the community as possible as an alternative.

now the title of this thread was unintentionally offensive, my bad, i wasn't thinking. it was mainly coming from going to the forums and seeing a whole new section put in and a whole new skin then wondering if anything else has changed

i dont know if my apologies or thanks have any value now.... but i am very sorry for everything i have done today, and am very thankful for everything really. i dont want to see anyone else punished for my mistakes so if there is anything i can do to make up for it, ill do it.

kris man. Don't stress. It's all cool. I think everyone here; admin, mods, members know your contribution and level of commitment to DH. Especially in the hardware forums you offer much more than most (including me) and provide a valuable service to the community. I mostly provide spam and humour (if you can call it that). I am going to PM you.

To everyone else out there: Please don't come here to point fingers and make accusations. The offence caused to DH and Z in this thread has been due to a lack of thought but no malice. Let it drop guys.

It is good to know the positive thoughts that have flowed in your direction since this thread turned. I am impressed by the support certain individuals have indicated they received from you in your own personal time and at no cost. Please don't remain offended by the content of this thread. Sometimes people do say and post things that they may not necessarily mean and can erasily misinterpreted. Without the addition of body language (this is virtual world after all) it is easy to misconstrue the intentions behind peoples words. Please, please don't change the site. This really is the best place on the www. Not only authoritive and technical but also friendly and fun. It comes from the top down.

Polite request for admin: Any chance please of closing this thread to reduce further fallout and hurt feelings?

I didn't want this to turn into some huge discussion about a little reply, and for that I'm sorry, but I didn't mean it like that at all.

I appreciate the apologies and the private messages. I would like to end this thread because it has gotten a little out of hand.

In hindsight I guess i would normally have dealt with this better, however I came here after 7 hours of work on a Saturday and after reading an email from a reader who basically accused me of corrupting our editorials with advertising schemes.

I would like to make it perfectly clear that any advertising is outside the confines of Editorials which is why they always say "skin sponsored by", not "site sponsored by".

While we have now gotten so large that we have seperate teams handling specific aspects of the site, I try to get myself involved in everything, I even design the skins so there is a bit of "DH" in them.

Once again, no hard feelings guys, im proud of our community and I would like to remain approachable to everyone because even though this site is now much larger than it was years ago, we still have enthusiasts and ordinary people behind the scenes.
