geraldmango is an unknown quantity at this point

If you had $2.25 million would you buy this?

The Bugatti Veyron is among the most exclusive cars in the world, a 1,000-horsepower super exotic owned by fewer than 150 people. Every one of them is about to be upstaged by the drop-dead gorgeous roadster Bugatti will unveil later this month at the Pebble Beach Concours.
Bugatti pulled the wraps off the stunning Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport this morning. The company isn't saying much about the car before its Aug. 16 premier, but does say that structural changes and other innovations make the roadster as rigid -- and safe -- as the coupe, which does zero to 60 in as little as 2.3 seconds (Bugatti claims 2.5) and tops out at 253 mph.

If I had 2.25 million dollars, I'd buy a dozen '67 Chevelle SS's.

Along with a 5000 square foot house, a Murcielago, and put another million in the bank.

Sure, it's an awesome car, no questioning that, but there's gotta be a line you can't cross when spending money. The only time that would be okay to spend that is if you matched just as much to a charity.

EDIT: And why spend 2.25 million on a fast car, when you can get the FASTEST car (SSC Aero) for only 650k.

Depends what you mean by fast.. On a straightaway or a track? On a track I am pretty sure the Gumpert Apollo is the quickest car now.

I wouldn't buy a car. They're for peasants.

I'd open 4 blues bars/clubs. One in London (UK), one in San Bernardino (California), another in Tijuana and the last one in Mexico City. I'd buy a small house in Oaxaca State (Mexico) and live (and dive) off the profits. I would work in an orphanage in Oaxaca so I wouldn't be a bum. So I would be doing the three things I love.

I think it's just shear speed, not acceleration.

If I wanted acceleration I'd get an electric car :P

I would rather buy tickets for a bus and save the rest money for other things. A nice but not expensive house, some investment so that the money keep giving me disposable income, put some aside for my kids (if I ever have), and whores, lots of whores, but not the expensive ones, the cheap ones.

But an expensive fast car...nah, most of the time I have nowhere to go, why spend all that money on a car?

if i had 2.25 Million to spend, i wouldn't buy that car.

i'd buy me a $500,000 home...with a pool, a 2009 RX-8 and fix it up, a 2009 Ford F-250 truck and raise it, a 750IL BMW (that one will be stock, lol), a 30ft. power boat, my "dream computer" of the day, give some money for my mom, put whatever is left into several different bank accounts to accure interest so my future kids have money for college .

oh, and i'll still work at where i work at now, or i'll work for cozumel blues bar

You can work in my blues bar (do you play?) as long as I can borrow your 30ft powerboat from time to time.

I honestly think it's a pretty unattractive car, but I'm not really into cars.

I'm more the type that would prefer to invest that money and live off the interest. I guess that makes me sort of boring, but what ya gonna do.

Invest 90% of it in bonds, spend the rest, if I've already got a good amount of money just put all of it into bonds, preferebly at a notable bank.

Edit: Oh yeah, and not to forget, to diversify things 40% into real estate, 40% into bonds and 10 to 15% into some good stock (spread around a bit between different good companies, some expensive stock and some speculative stock) and then the rest to buy a new car or whatever else seems nice to be done at the time. I shall then live off the interest and continue to invest in equities over time.

If I had that much money I'd invest it, or find a bunch of different ways to get what I needed. If I was a billionare I might consider it, but that seems like a waste of money.
Reminds me of the saudi royal that sent his car 6500 miles for an oil change, what a waste.

i can't really agree with you...veyron is still faster

quick bugatti vs. gumpert
top speed: 400km/h (stable) : 360km/h
0-100km/h: 2,5s : 3,0s
0-200km/h: 7,4s : 8,9s
...

and besides...who would buy that ugly car (apollo)? :P

data is from wikipedia & gumperts web site...

i think bugatti is masterpeace...but it's still too expensive to buy

i'd buy one house for me, at least two for renting....other cash...well...
a pc with all high tech equipment in it

some for the family, bonds, and other for the bank
