Anything as long as you're the one paying.
![]() Seriously, one of my favorite is Rum & Coke. It reminds me of a trip I made with friends at the dominican republic where this drink was served for free. At first, I did not really like it. After drinking a few of them almost daily for two weeks, I aquired a taste for it and now I like it. Stupid question here : why do people say "on the rock"? Can't they just say "with ice"? Is there a difference in meaning or it's just to sound "cool" or "drinking knowledgeable" or something? Last edited by Tril; Aug 15, 2008 at 08:55 AM. |

Sorrel (in Jamaica) also called Jamaica in Mexico ( the 'J' becomes a 'H' sound).
It's made with the petals from the roselle plant. I make it myself and have about 2lb of the petals here at home in London. It's a beautiful drink serve chilled on it's own during the hot days and mixed with some good quality white rum at night. That probably makes sorrel a mixer and not an alcoholic drink. Therefore, please accept guiness as my entry.

Jameson on the rocks with a splash of water. Favorite non-liquor drink has to be Guinness. And the two of them together? Heaven.

Beer (as in free).
My usual draught of choice is Rickard's Red... but in a pinch Alexander Keith's Red will suffice. If I'm not paying I'm not complaining

Well, don't drink (except on special occasions) anymore, but here's the synopsis in no particular order, anyway.
Africa: Favourite Namibian Beer: Windhoek (named after capital city, 3.5%, very good tastes just like Amstel but a bit crisper) Favourite South African Beer: Carling Black Label (5.5%) Europe: Favourite Dutch (and Overall) Beer: Amstel Light (3.5%) Favourite German Beer: Karlsberg Export (5.4%) Favourite Irish Beer: Guiness (4.27%) North America: Pilsner, GW Pilsner, Keith’s, Big Rock, Kokanee. Heavy stuff: JD, Johnny Walker Black Label; Green Label; Blue Label, Klipdrift (Klipdrift with coke )Specialty: Sex on the beach, Blowjob (unique South African Amarula Cream with whiskey I think, a hot half Spanish, half South African girl once bought me this at a popular bar/resturant/club called Bull & Bush in Botswana, tastes good )

Crap, I forgot the wine, favourite wine of all time is South African Four Cousins Natural Sweet Red (12.5%) which is like affordable and pretty damn good for its price (would be referred to as "somewhat cheapo" if you were in Southern Africa, but I assure you, it does come in a bottle
), the Four Cousins Rose is also extremely damn good, I'm not gonna lie, I'm no wino/only just started drinking wine like a year and a half ago so other than that I'll try any reputadely good French, Italian and Australian red wine as well.

![]() Yeah... I find most American beers too weak and watery. Even if I'm just enjoying a cold one on a hot afternoon I prefer a good heavy beer
