where should I take the wife?
we've our 8 year anniversary coming up June 1. I'd like to fly to Europe somewhere for like 4 days/3 nights. Our two older boys will be staying here with grandma and we will be taking the 8 month old baby with us. Keeping that in mind (baby too not just us), any suggestions on where to go? We've been nowhere so its all open to us... I was thinking Austria maybe... what do you guys think? and links are more than welcome
![]() edit - looking at Salzburg, Austria anyone know anything about it? though not sure this trip will even work out or not for sure due to leaving the older children behind... may just end up being a family vacation

I considered a greek island but AFAIK, greece and cyprus are a bit more expensive than other European places... Prague sounds cool

Personally, the one time I went to Rome I truly loved it - you can reach practically everywhere in just a few minutes with a foreigner-friendly subway system... and there is a lot of very interesting stuff to see that isn't an art museum (coughpariscough)... there is one subway exit I remember very well that exits just across the street from the Coliseum and a few dozen acres of very cool Roman ruins... truly great stuff
![]() EDIT: And St. Peters Basilica is a magnificent building in the Vatican - it wasn't that bright the day I went so the picture isn't too good, but I'll always remember this view, looking back towards the entrance and seeing these rays of light moving down onto the floor:

If I were you I'd pick a place where you can get a good exchange rate for your money. That might seem difficult with the euro going all throughout europe. Also check weather charts of the places your thinking about for the time you want to go. It may not be 100% accurate but it should give you an idea of what's going to happen.

Come on shuki, get yourself down here in the south of france, Cannes to be exact.
Sun, sea, food, wine and COMPUTERS Then you could explore the southern parts here which are really breathtaking. Not to mention lashing of frog legs and snails all washed down with some local hock. Or if you like the late nights i would recommend Spain. Another lively country with varied tastes for all.

Spain I've heard isn't good with children, because the key to Spain is to keep going to cafe's up til 2am.. a bit past kid's bedtimes
And, er, frog legs? Snails, yes, escargot all the way!
