US marks seventh 9/11 anniversary

US President George W Bush has led commemorations of the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, which left nearly 3,000 people dead.
Moments of silence were held at the times four hijacked passenger planes hit the Twin Towers in New York, the Pentagon and a Pennsylvania field.
In Washington, Mr Bush dedicated a new memorial at the Department of Defense to 184 people killed there. "The worst day in America's history saw some of the bravest acts," he said.

I just pray that concrete evidence never comes out proving it was US consipracy against its own people for other 'hidden' objectives.

I believe it was terrorism from the Middle East. It's just too horrible to contemplate anything else without anything other than circumstantial evidence to prove otherwise.

I was in elementary school when it happened. Fifth grade, which seems like a hell of a long time ago.

Doesn't feel that long ago, though.

I just got done watching a documentary. It was more a collection of archival footage from all over, no commentary, just the voices of those on the street at the time. Very hard stuff to watch, I've been choked up since it began. Seeing those people and imagining what they must have been thinking is difficult for me.

My thoughts go out to those who lost family members or friends.

I can't believe after 7 years Ground Zero still looks like a mess. Though I'm sure it's really due to incompetence and greed I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people think Bush's cabinet played a role in slowing the cleanup and rebuilding so the country would be reminded of the attacks for the remainder of his term and going into the 08 election.

Looking at images or watching videos of 9/11 are still hard to do for me. I didn't loose anyone in the attack, but i remember being at work, and everything just stopped and we watched all the events happen.... gives me chills even thinking about. My heart n thoughts go out to those who died and left behind family n friends.

My condolences go out to all the families who lost their loved ones on that tragic day i remember watching it on TV when i got back home from Uni and thinking to my self that this must be a movie or a really bad joke!

Only to realize after channel surfing for a bit that it was on all the TV stations what a shock.
