Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday?

Being half hebrew I was raised for it being saturday. And as I understand it, it still should be saturday. So why do so many people go to church on sunday?

because most religions simply follow the lead of the catholic church which changed the sabbath from the seventh day of the week to the first day of the week around the 3rd century A.D. in honor of the resurrection. Hence this was called "the Lord's day" and was termed the Christian's sabbath.

It does not however have biblical authority; no reference of a change of this day can be found in the new testament by either Christ or any of the apostles (Paul, Peter etc. all still observed the sabbath on the 7th day..aka. Saturday) Protestant religions who attend church on Sunday are doing so only because of a convention established by the early Catholic church (whether they realize it or not... : )

Everyday for my family

is the lords day, we give what we can to god, and also for ourselves, sunday is when we praise him in church, but we praise everyday as well, Whatever anyones higher power, when we pray, we are getting in tune with our almighty power. But we don't need to gather to pray everyday, It begins in the morning and just before we go to bed..counting our blessings is an integral part of our faith..

I thought so. I had a feeling that sabbath was still saturday. A friend in class asked me what day I went when I said I go on saturdays. She even tried to convince me that sunday was the 7th day lol

Minor correction: The early Church. Catholic Church as such separated from the Orthodox Church around 1000 years ago (or vice-versa, depending on whether you listen to a Catholic or an Orthodox). Both "Catholic" and "Orthodox" are attributes of the Christian Church ("universal" and "of right faith"), and only became "names" after the Great Schism.

"and the evening and the morning were the first day" (Gen 1:5b) Scripturally, it is always recorded as the evening and the morning making up the day. So according to the Jewish calendar days go sundown to sundown as CherryPopper stated.

and Falling Jeff hit the nail on the head. In Christ we have every day being the Lords day and not just once a week.... those "christians" that live like the devil all week and then go get it taken care of on Sunday simply are not right....
