worst b-day ever

today has sucked. today has to be by far the worst birthday i've ever had.

to recap, my aunt who raised me has been in and out of the hospital this year and nearly died on at least two occasions. my parents are getting divorced, and my grandma died just two days before my b-day. it would have been nice to see her one more time, or her to call me and wish me well on my b-day like she always did.

everything has just compounded on me since monday and i'm all depressed because of it.

makes me feel like i'm a worthless pile of shit and i shouldn't be here anymore.

I really do feel for what you're going through. None of what's happened, though, has anything to do with your personal worth. You're one of the very highly valued members of DH and the community appreciates all the hard work and dedication you provide for the forums.

Just realize that, no matter how difficult times can be, they also can provide some really great times. But, we have to take them both..and everything in between to really appreciate life itself.

Im sure life will turn around soon enough for you Jon..Loosing youre grandmother is a low moment for sure,but so close to your b-day also must hurt.As you said it's those sentimental parts that be missed the most.

Bro dont let things get you too down. Depression can be nasty if it goes untreated. I hope things pickup for you in the near future you seem to be a decent guy from what I see here at DH

All I can offer are condolences. Hopefully the rest of the year will be much better, allowing you to forget your troubles or at least blunt the pain.

CD's...... you are far from worthless! yeah a lot of shyt's hitting the fan right now for you and your family, but realise none of it is your doing and none of it has anything to do with your personal worth.

Your worth is so much more than you know!

It may not be a happy one for you, but it's your birthday so be good to yourself! Don't "hang out" with depression..... that, my friend, is not a place to go, let it slide and be cool.

I think what Dyre said was very well put. You can't let what is out of your control get you down. The timing sucks, but really, you can only do so much.

I've personally got a whole list of problems in my life right now, I'm experiencing the most difficult time of my life. For a while, it was very overwhelming and it depressed me. Then, the realization that a) I'm not all-powerful and b) people are going to do what they are going to do. Since then, I feel much better. All I can do is work on myself and hope others do the same to better the situation.

The key to the self-worth questions is that you a)recognize what it is you need to do and have control over, and b) do it to the best of your ability. If you can do this, you have no reason to question your ability or worth. In fact, if you can do these things, you are ahead of most people and should be empowered by that.

Get a grip on yourself. Yes, life sucks and all that. I know how you feel because I have been through all that you mentioned earlier. It's ok to feel bad after bad things take place that affect you, but there is no reason for stupidity like questioning your own selfworth because of situations that you have no control over. It wasn't your decision for any of the bad things to happen. You can feel bad for a day or two, but that's about it. You have to pick yourself up and continue with the journey of life and stop all this emo shit. You are better than this, don't act like you are not, it's annoying and unfair to the people who really do suck.
