I just saw the movie, too busy to watch it when it came out. As the thread title sez, lay it out gents if u've seen it what do you think, sucked or rocked?

SPOILER ALERT

My experience with Max Payne (The game) back in the day was wow,this was the era before Call of duty I was awe struck, the story telling, the captivating game play. The zero bugs, ZERO(with me anyway). Excellent cameras , the flowing leather jacket which was brand new to us back then. I played that game 2-3 times.Purely coz it was brilliant. For the artistic poetic and dark ambiance you get from the game, did the movie do the game justice. The sprites, the story, seems like everything was laid down by Tarantino himself.

My take on it is that he shuda directed the movie. I gave it a six. Wasnt bad but the Max's themes werent taken into account enough , violence and utter loss and revenge that characterize him were faguely there. This should have been a movie about a guy who isnt afraid to shoot his was through hell to get to his wife's killer. And hell has millions of demons.

lol All in all it wasn't a totally astonishing movie but wasn't bad either.

I agree, kinda round in the face but his acting style suits the role better. I wish they had asked fans what they would like to see in the movie by doing a little more research. This should have been a sin-city style movie, sin-city had a lot more aspects of the game than max Payne the movie ever did.

It's not the worst movie I've ever seen. Actually enjoyed some of the special effects. But, I do agree that Mark Wahlberg just isn't the guy for the job.
