Do you use Browser Bookmarks?

Bookmarks for browsing has been around for ages...... since the dawn of it all pretty much.

however, do you really use them, are you one that just manually punches in the addresses anyways, or one that couldn't get around without booksmarks there. Or maybe you kinda do a bit of both, bookmarking only the major critical NEW sites that you may forget later and then not using them when you've remembered the address.

Re: Do you use Browser Bookmarks?

I've got a bunch saved up but I don't use them often. For the forums I visit everyday, I use the quick link bar in Firefox (the line below the address bar). That way, I can access DH and other forums in one click.
I use google as my home page as I often need it.

Oh yes, I have thousands of them. But the ones I use very often I have in a "daily" section for easy browsing.

Re: Do you use Browser Bookmarks?

I've got boatloads of bookmarks saved, but mainly for sites where I might not remember the address.

Sites I visit frequently I keep in Opera's speed dial, I've got 24 entries, and keyboard shortcuts to every one.

Dude you know I am over 40 if it wasn't for bookmarks I might not find my way on here J/K

I used FF have for years and this allows me to organize my bookmarks into categories depending on what I am doing. I have a folder "Boards" to surf with then others like "Review Stuff", "Personal Links" .. well you get the idea

Re: Do you use Browser Bookmarks?

I didn't until this last 2 years. It allows me to organize all my sites that I like to visit... As a tech it is important to have info readily available so I can organize like this:
networking
server 2k3
server 2k8
xp
vista
crm
etc

So bookmarks ftw for ease of access.

Re: Do you use Browser Bookmarks?

I use them a lot. There are many pages I occasionally need for work or college that I don't want to search for every time. And even if I'm not using the menu itslef, I often rely on the browser to offer me the right address as I start typing it.

That very well be why would you create series of bookmarks and folders if you know that machine might be going out the door as a sale tomorrow ..

Yes. And they all have their certain folder/subfolder. And are all in either most-to-least used for the most used bookmark folders or in alphabetical order for the folder which aren't used as much.

Same thing like you, After my favorits folder had dozens of sites , it is easier to google what you need or the most used sites I write its address directly.

Re: Do you use Browser Bookmarks?

I use my google home page for my most frequently used links. Those that have an RSS feed I just use that, for those that don't, like DH, I use Better Bookmarks.

I do have thousands of bookmarks on SeaMonkey that I never use, and a few on IE and Opera that I occasionally use, but for normal use I just use my google home page.
