I just got a small bag of cookies for helping someone out with a little Windows XP problem. Hehe!

Anybody else have any stories where they've received something other than money as compensation for computer help?

gratuitous, and for the most part and unemotional, just an exchange of libido nothing more, then I married her, never marry a dancer at centerfolds in San Francisco, they will gravitate towards the japanese businessmen every time....sigh....but that was years ago..

I had one dude that DEMANDED that I come over and fix his PC for him. Since I was the one that built it, he figured it had to be my fault that it screwed up. You know what he did? He erased his system.ini, command.com, IO.sys and other system files off of his C: drive. No wonder it was failing to boot. (he was running Win98se)

Naturally, I just ended up re-formatting his system.

He payed me with a BAG OF CHEESE that he STOLE from his job (some pizza parlor).

PFFT...talk about getting cheesed.

all i got once was for sorting out a hdd problem was sweat F.A,plus it were my hdd to start with that i replaiced for him under a promice of some cash that never shown up

I once received a side of ham and fresh eggs for about six months from a farmer who wanted a ram/cpu upgrade for his mb. I never realized the dairy farm community was as far advanced with technology until I helped this guy out. His setup montered what cows were fed/milked, times, how much and the type of feed given, amount of milk from cow, and make on the fly adjustments to food to either increase or decrease milk production. And that looked really to be only the beginning with what this software could do but that was all he worked with. I thought I gained in the long run, sugar cured/smoked hams are expensive.
