LOS ANGELES (AP) -- "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" isn't due in theaters until next month, but the prequel has already hacked its way online.
A high-quality, full-length work print of the 20th Century Fox film appeared online Tuesday evening. The studio said it had the file removed, but copies quickly propagated and continue to appear on several file-sharing Web sites.
The movie focuses on the beginnings of Hugh Jackman's clawed Marvel superhero Wolverine and is set for a May 1 release.
Fox vowed in a statement Wednesday that the source of the "stolen, incomplete and early version" of the movie would be prosecuted and said the FBI and MPAA are investigating. The studio also insisted that the version of the film posted online was "was without many effects, had missing and unedited scenes and temporary sound and music."

watched it last night.... out of surprise...

near the start of the movie i thought things looked a little "rough around the edges" and then some very small specific parts in the movie where it was quite obvious the post production work hadn't been 100% completed....

Good movie.... if i was near a theater i'd invest to watch it. (again to boot)

I have no interest in "leaked" anything especially when it comes to X-Men ... AWESOME series

Agreed i also like the series and when it comes out will go to the theater and see it.

There was a screening copy for Fellowship of the Ring leaked before it was released in theaters. This is the copy shown in video stores with "This is a screening copy not for retail sale" displayed. I suspect this is similar and it means someone working at the production company leaked it.

It's one thing to have an unifinished version of a film "leaked" a month before the film is released and another thing to have the film unfinished a month before release and have a copy of the current version of the film "leaked". Major films are not in post production stage a month before release. There might be exceptions perhaps, but it is very rare if it happens.

Mac, the dvds you are talking about are usualy for the Academy members.

I agree with you BlueMak on post production and this may be an exception. There may be more than you think LOR is an example as you already know.
