UFC 100 - LIVE from the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas, Nv. Your PICK?!
Here are MY picks for the two major cards of UFC 100.
Frank Mir vs Brock Lesnar - Mir submits Lesnar in the second round. Georges St-Pierre vs Alves - St-Pierrie KO's Alves in 2 rounds or less. Your thoughts?

Frank Mir vs. Brock Lesnar - Mir. No way am I ever picking Lesnar over any fighters I actually like.
Georges St. Pierre vs. Thiago Alves - GSP, pretty much an obligatory pick as a Canadian. Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago - Fitch, he's got too much experience and skills compared to Thiago. Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping - Bisping. I'm torn on this one, but I think Bisping has a better style matchup than a lot of people are expecting. Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher - Belcher, I don't really know Akiyama, Belcher has heavy hands.

Sorry to say boys but Lesnar is going to steamroll Mir in the first round. He's too big, too strong and too fast for Mir and he won't get caught in a submission again (all he needs is basic submission defense to survive in the HW division). GSP should take Alves but to be honest I'm not that well versed on Thiago's fights other than the flying knee KO of Matt Hughes. Dan Henderson will win against Bisping though we're most likely talking 50/50 chance of a decision win. Bisping has nothing on Henderson so it's Dan's fight to lose. Akiyama is a great fighter and I would not bet against him unless he's fighting an "A" level fighter (which he is not). This guy is huge in Japan and he should go far in the UFC. Akiyama destroyed one of my favorite fighters Denis Kang but I forgive him ![]() Finally, Stephan Bonnar better beat Mark Coleman or I will die laughing. Coleman must have had it written into his fight contract with Shogun Rua that he gets a 2nd fight no matter what because there's no reason for him to be in the UFC at his age and with such a limited skillset. EDIT: Forgot to mention Jon "Bones" Jones. That guy was amazing last time and I can't wait to see his fight even if he's fighting a boring fighter in Jack O'brien. If he's the real deal we could be looking at the next UFC superstar.

By the way, if you don't have or don't feel like spending the cash to see it live on Pay-Per-View, you can do the same thing as I am. I'm watching it stream live on Free PPV Tv 24/7
Just click LIVE STREAM at the top of the screen!!

So, what did everyone think?
I made a bit of money last night betting on the fights (was only wrong about Coleman fight but honestly who saw that coming) and I must say this one was of the best UFC's in a long time. All of the main card fights were great, I haven't seen any of the prelim fights but I hope to in a couple of days.

Solid card all-around, only outcome I was disappointed with was Mir/Lesnar, but that wasn't unexpected.
I have trouble seeing anyone taking out Lesnar now in the UFC HW division, nobody else even weighs in at 265 without cutting weight. Although there are a number of fighters who I think could give him trouble standing, none of them have the size to stay on top of Brock on the ground, while Mir was probably the best bet for subbing him from the bottom.

Re: UFC 100 - LIVE from the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas, Nv. Your PICK?!
I agree, Brock is going to be a lot of trouble for the Heavyweight Division. Part of the problem is that this is UFC's weakest division after losing so many top fighters. One reason I hoped Lesnar would win is that this will force Dana White to sign Fedor Emelianenko into the UFC to face Brock. Dana actually said after the fight he plans to sign Fedor once his August fight in Affliction is over.
The average UFC fan has no idea who Fedor but they don't need to, a USA vs Russia match with would solve all of Dana White's problems by making Brock the hero (he needs it after his unsportsmanlike antics after the Mir fight) and getting a chance to see Fedor lose in the Octagon. I'm not sure how well Brock can take a punch as he's yet to absorb a solid shot to the head yet but if he has a good chin it would be a very tough match for Fedor. Aleksander Emelianeko, however, would easily take Brock Lesnar I think. He is 6"6 and 255lbs with more punching power than his brother, he's the perfect match to fight Brock Lesnar. That said, Mir would probably beat Aleks so he wouldn't be champ long
