Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince movie

I'm pumped to see this movie, not excited enough to dress up as a wizard but damn close.

I used to think the Potter movies were childish and dumb but I gave the first one a chance and it was pretty good and the rest were consistently entertaining but never fantastic. After the Order of the Phoenix I went ahead and got the next two books to see how it ended and I was very impressed with the progression of the series. It finally gets darker and the stakes are much higher (rather than Dumbledore saving the day all the time). If you don't know what's in store all the better! Guess I'll see it this week rather than wait until IMAX 3D version comes out (it's a waste of money for just a few minutes in 3D).

Anyone else want to see it...but maybe ashamed to admit?

Or if you absolutely hate the Harry Potter movies it'd be nice to hear why.

Oh I'll see it but wait for the disc version. For me it's the good mature actors that have held up the movies for me even when at times the script has sometimes been bland. I dislike every minute of when they are in the "real" world because it somehow overflows the sillyness of Rowlings magic world.

I'm a huge fan of the books absolutely love them... love magic and fantasy... not much into the movies though !!!!! so i doubt I'll be going to watch it in the theaters until someone drags me there ( or pays for me

I saw it and it was, well, lifeless but faithful enough to the book. Much darker indeed.

On the bright side everyone in the theater got a free admission ticket because the projector was kinda messed up. If only they did that for Transformers 2!

If you ask me, that fight scene at the end of The Order of the Phoenix was pretty sick. Wizard lazers...peew, peew. The new one might not be too bad. It IS a lot darker than the last one.

It's The Empire Strikes Back of Harry Potter movies.

i've got the entire "so far" series on blu-ray.. they are all good movies

i watched this last on a few days ago actually, it was a good one... the ending for most people (i never read the books) was hard for most people to take... it's was a bit abrupt and harsh...

but then again, that makes it that much better in the end.

Watched it last night and overall it wasn't too bad. There is suppose to be a nice massive battle at Hogwarts though, not just come in and kill Dumbledore then walk out.

they are splitting the books into 2 halves simply because the the movie would be to long to encompus it all..

4 movies for the last 2 books.. possibly only 3

it was ok, nothing wonderful - that said i was dragged to it. I am certainly not the target audience for these films however....

Interesting to see that Judas doesn't like any HBO show but likes transformers and harry potter films (as well as S.Darko which has to be one of the worst films ever made btw).

They are only splitting the last one. Half Blood Prince wasn't. Although it should of been. Way too much material to cover in a movie.

It was too long and too slow as it was, I can't imagine how seeing Half Blood Prince in two parts...that would mean at least an extra 20 minutes of Weasley ignoring Emma Watson's hotness. I mean, I get it in the books Hermione Granger might be plain looking so that makes sense but in the movies that BS just won't fly!

personal opinion..

but i honestly don't understand that interest in some of the shows .. specially the sapranos which is by far worse then smallville overall and smallville is only watchable as a joke....

It's kinda like the extremes of stupidity and watching it, at some point it's not even watchable.

So, tell me, did this film seem rushed like the last few? I do recall some of the previous books being lengthy compared to the first three or so, and it always seems like a challenge for the editor to condense the runtime to an appropriate length. If it did feel rushed, why not just make the films longer?

This one felt rushed because not much actually happens in the 2 1/2 hour run time. For a movie titled "The Half Blood Prince" there's barely any mystery about who that actually refers to and the way it is revealed is completely anti climatic. In the book there is a major battle at the end leading up to the shocking ending. For some inexplicable reason this battle isn't in the movie yet we get 3 times as much time devoted to teenage romantic subplots; Emma Watson could have at least undressed a few or let a goblin leg hump her as Megan Fox did in TF2!

I saw it last Sunday, it was OK, as Judas said I didn't like that particular book very much either. The opening sequence is good but most of it seems to be plot and character building for the final two movies

I saw it on the 14th at a Private screening, and everyone was dressed up. The movie was great, but, nothing like the book To Be Honest.

I will wait to see this movie on bluray. Not really a fan of HP but the movies have been enjoyable. I pretty much only go to the movies if they're showing on IMAX.

Also Emma Watson is pretty enough but she's nothing to get worked up about - looks a little like Macauley Kulkin in a wig to me!
