I grew up with his style of reporting. I am old enough to remember him reporting on Kennedy's assasination. Vietnam, and narrating several documentary movies. I still recall his editorial on the Tet offensive in Vietnam, many of his comments echo now in IRAQ, and Afghanistan. He was a true journalist and I liked his stand against Christian fundamentalists.

He was a true patriot and one of the last great men this country will know. They just don't make them like that anymore.
