When do you think is the end of the world?

Well, not that I'm terribly surprised that I'm the first to post it around here but...

The world as we know it will end when Christ returns.

Flame away as you will. I'll say a prayers for you all tonight.

but, if we're dead by the time that happens, if that happens, how will we know that was ever true?

only those who would be alive at that point in time would really know the truth and either suffer as they die or are miraculously saved from certain death!

moot point cddb. if that is part of your belief system then the world doesnt end until christs 2nd coming. if u dont beleive that, then it is irrelevant

Yeah and there's a huge building in Independence, MO, USA that was errected as a gigantic "slide" for when he comes zooming out of the sky. Think im kidding? The Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints (RLDS) built a gigantic building at the spot where they thought Zion was predicted to be. Take some digging but you'll find it (link isn't to an actual article about it but its out there). In any case they built a massive structure where the end of the world is suppose to happen and I thought it was funny. Its right in the town where I grew up so I saw it all the time. But alas they failed and built the thing a foot off of the proposed spot on accident and now jesus isn't coming back

So it actually being used as a slide is an exaggeration but it is supposed be the spot for the return of Jesus. At least it looks nice

note the slide-like quality of the building

. like i said earlier in this thread, my OP if i remember correctly, the end of the world is the day i die.

i don't believe that people have souls, that there is a heaven and earth, that there is an afterlife, etc. the day i die, will be the end of the world for me. at this point in time, i don't know what i would want done with my body after i am dead. i'll be dead. what would i care happens to my body? granted, i would still like to be respected by my family after i have died, thus, i would prefer to be buried or cremated. if cremated, i'd like to be placed in some kind of blue container. idk what kind of container, but the color blue would be that of the blue of the smilies that are used on DH

you know.....glad containers are this exact blue and they are 4/$1.00 at Wal-Mart if you're interested

cremated or burried (appropriately) you will contribute to the natural environment. if you're cremated, your ashes will serve as fertilizer. if you are burried in a shallow grave your decomposing body will serve as fertilizer and also feed insects and other small animals.
