Boredom project... refurbing the wats :)

Well... got some Watanabe alloys with the car & they're in desperate need of a re-furb.

Seeing as I've had some spare time lately, I though - what the heck!

So, some pics

Before:

After a bit of sanding... more to do

First layer of grey primer (and yes, I know it's not supposed to go on the tyres hehe - these are illegal - so will be replaced shortly

)

Not perfectly even, will sort that on the next layer

Taken me nearly two hours to get to this stage on the first wheel... that sanding took FOREVER!

Not looking forward to doing it... but the end result will be worth the hassle & will have only cost me less than 20 quid

They're going to look great imo... going to be a slightly glossy, lackered black with a "classic red" ring round the outside.

Finished article!

After taking a while to get back round to it... stripped the other stuff off with nitromors & sorted them with etch primer - gives an even better finish

Seeing as it has been such a nice day, I decided to go for a little bit of a drive in the New Forrest... wanted some pics of the newly refurbished wheels, so took the camera & here are the results

Good job!

The fourth picture from the bottom looks like you had someone hanging from the side of the moving car to take it, the camera was still relative to the car, but it seems like it was moving relative to the road.

That's a secret

So low to the ground/close to the wheel... it was easy to take that pic & yeah - the car was moving about 30-40mph at the time

Did one or two more small aesthetic changes from the last shots - think the red calipers/centre bits look good
