To be fair HP took $22million in midnight showings on its opening day, and its already at over $220million in its second week...

![]() I can't say much about any of the films, though, I was nearly lured to see Harry Potter this Saturday, but eventually ended up having some fantastic ice cream instead, and I was most strongly advised against any ideas involving watching "Bruno". EDIT: Correction, I've seen "Ice Age". It's not the masterpiece the original (first part) was, but I enjoyed watching it. I wish I'd went alone too, the Universiade was still going and the entire row in front of me was occupied by girls from some (by the sound of the language and the fact that they were all blonde) Nordic national team.

Never surprised by box office dollars..... really could care less...
I'm interested however to see how the new Tron 2 movie does... it looks utterly sick.

Re: What A Shocker at Box offiice this weekend.
The only good thing about G-force is that is reminds me of the awesome comic "We3" by Grand Morrison. It's also about talking animals except these ones are armed assassins run by the government and when they rebel it turns into a slaughter. If only Hollywood had the balls to turn that into a film

Re: What A Shocker at Box offiice this weekend.
Parents have to take little kids to see movies, when they come out every so often, they go just to satisfy the little ones. My kids are 'too old' to watch this movie, and I'm grateful.

Re: What A Shocker at Box offiice this weekend.
of these, i've seen
2. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," $30 million. 5. "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs," $8.2 million. 6. "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," $8 million. 7. "The Hangover," $6.5 million. my gf and i went to see the new HP movie (she paid ) and it wasn't as good as the last one i saw. i like watching it for all the big magic spells that they cast. the CG or w/e they do is ubber awesome when they've done those.but back on topic, i'd watch G-Force more as a rental than anything...or if i was invited to go see it, lol. |
