Schumacher calls off F1 comeback

Seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher has abandoned his comeback with Ferrari because of a neck injury.

The 40-year-old, who retired at the end of 2006, was set to deputise for the injured Felipe Massa at the European Grand Prix in Valencia on 23 August.

"Unfortunately we did not manage to get a grip on the pain in the neck which occurred after the private F1-day in Mugello," Schumacher told his website.

Too bad, at least Messa is out of the picture for a long time.

lol couple other forums I frequent peeps were getting real excited about it, and I said from the off that his neck was a bigger problem than was widely reported (I heard off a guy, who heard off a guy etc... way back may or june, that he'd done some proper damage to his neck, and it was being hushed a bit)

anyway, its a shame. would've been a hoot to watch The Mighty Chin battling with the kids in todays F1.
may have given Kimi that kick up the arse he needs as well
