Whats up people
Hey name is Ty currently in NY and getting a little bit better comp got a free computer that already had power supply, 3 HD 250GB, and came with coolings fans, i added a Asus A8N SLI Premium mother board, OCZ 2 1GB RAM, HP DVD player cause it was cheap, CPU Cooling fan and AMD 64 that i also got for free, and a 20inch VGA monitor off of free cycle, and Nvidia Gforce 7600 GT graphics card found in a case that i bought right out of a salvation Army store. still working on a few kinks but its going well, I want to update the Bios but not sure how and also get the sound card to work correctly. I mainly work on cars and im currently in the army and about to deploy in the next few months. I could sure use the help with flashing the bios and figuring out why the sound card is messed up thanks later dudes.

Re: Whats up people
sorry, i dont know. generally, there are utilities built into the BIOS itself, for Asus, theres the EZ Flash thats built into newer Asus boards where you just load it up to a flash drive

Re: Whats up people
Did you make this a bootable floppy? Maybe this one need to boot to DOS to run the flash..... What did the instructions say?

Re: Whats up people
Thankfully you don't need a bootable floppy to get the bios updated. If you have Windows installed just download the ASUS Update V7.06.02 Install Program listed under Bios Utilities on their site, install it, download the bios you want from their site (the beta one should work fine, which is 1604), and use the Asus Update to flash the bios. When you launch the Asus Update program you will have a drop down box with a bunch of options in it, one of which is to "Update bios from file". Use that option, pick the bios you downloaded, and you'll be good to go in no time.
