They should be more understanding with people but ya do understand with some of the insane things people call in with! (I guess they figure everyone should know as much as they do)

I was helping a customer troubleshoot printer sharing one day. It took a lot longer than it should have, partially due to her tenuous grasp of the English language. Well, at this point, she had been acting as my proxy hands for over 20 minutes, pushing keys and clicking buttons to my directions. So, after I thought the problem had been fixed I talked her through closing the print properties and rebooting. It went like this:
ME: Ok, looks good. Press enter
HER: Ok
ME: Press enter again
HER OK.
ME: Press Control - Escape....
HER: Uh huh...
ME: Up arrow...
HER: Yeah
ME: "Y".... and Enter
HER: Ok
ME: Now turn around three times...
HER: Ok
UNKOWN THIRD PARTY IN THE BACKGROUND: What the fuck are you doing?!?!?!
ME: Oh shit!
(panicked pause)
ME: Ummm... Did you just turn around?
HER: Huh? Ummm....
UNKNOWN 3rd PARTY: (says something about the phone cord) (says something else in a loud tone)
HER: You told me...
ME: Oh. Uh... Yeah. That was like a joke. Sorry.
(my head is about to explode, but this is a high-dollar client and I'm wondering what my termination letter will say)
HER: Ok. It seem to be working fine now.
ME: Great. Glad that worked. Have a nice day. Bye
(I then walk casually yet quickly outside where I proceed to laugh my ass off)
that was by far, my most favorite one of them all!

same as i miss the BRRRRRRRB of dot matrix printers.

it was a reassuring sound, an audible 'you're about to achieve something' sound..
