What is the Weirdest "Condition" You've Ever Experienced Personally?
Hopefully, none of these are/were very serious.
As for myself, it's been many years ago but I still remember it very well. I had my family out for dinner on a Sunday afternoon. As we were eating, suddenly, without any warning, the right side of my face went dead. I couldn't blink my right eye, the right side of my mouth quit working, and the muscles in my cheeks went numb. Up until this time, I had never heard of Bell's Palsy. But, a trip to the doctor confirmed that's what I had. He assured me that, even without any medication, the condition would clear up on its own in a few weeks. And, it did. But, those few weeks seemed like an eternity! You can read more about it here if you're interested.... Bell's Palsy Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment of Bell's Palsy Thankfully, it WAS temporary. But, it gave me a better appreciation for those who may have a condition that is permanent. I'd hate to imagine having to deal with what I had for the rest of my life! Has anyone else ever had this? Or something even weirder? |

Cluster headaches are both the weirdest, most painful and most incapacitating condition i've ever experienced. And i'm stuck with them for life
![]() Cluster headache - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia There's talk of putting me on Lithium as a mood stabiliser because it's a stress related condition. This actually leads me to believe i'm quite "Unstable", Good thing most of the time it's elation

Hmm, well the closest thing to weird is the following. The feet below the ankles could very easily turn 90 degrees inwards. Not just when sitting, but out of the blue while walking. I had a few very interesting falls because of it. Thankfully over the years it has almost disappeared and I don't even remember when it was the last time it happened on its own.
I don't know if it has a name or if it is completely normal or anything lol.

I had Bell's palsy too before. It was weird because everyone else notice it first (only half of my face was moving even though i was acting normal) Everyone else was more freaked out than I was, glad it went away though and couldn't wear my contacts.

Re: What is the Weirdest "Condition" You've Ever Experienced Personally?
Suffered with Labyrinthitis for a few months the symptoms are quite funny .... well for the wife thought it was hilarious
anyway you know that moment when you have downed a fair few drinks , you get home you lay down and the room starts to spin .. thats what i had the room is whipping around i feel drunk but without the fun of having the drink and you feel like your looking at the world through the bottom of a glass all the time My wife thought it was funny because a simple walk from the living room to the kitchen meant me staggering like a sailor in high seas 1 step forwards 2 to the side 1 back 3 forward all in all lasted about 3 months i can laugh now but for weeks i could not drive , watch TV read a book etc |

^^^^
Any idea what brought this on? Sounds like maybe some infection in the middle/inner ear or along that line, anyway. |
