Wait a min!
Dark matter/energy and all the theories and cosmology today, relies on the assumption that our knowledge of physical laws and in particular everything to do with gravity, is 100% correct? hahahahahahaha
So, we accept that 70% of all matter in the universe is this mysterious matter which cannot be seen, touched, smelled, affected, but, it is there, or else, we are wrong!!! hahahahahahahaha This includes the big bang assumption. Oh my, we are so screwed.

Re: Wait a min!
However we do know that our spectrum of being able to see/touch/taste/smell/hear is very limited even in the realms of all the technology we have in attempt to convert it to something we can do one or more of those 5 things..
But overall, yes, it's theory ontop of the theory in an attempt to explain things. There are entire areas of expertise devouted to things that haven't been 100% proven.... just backed up by highly questionable data that is in no way or form a large enough scale to be close to 100% accurate. Actually the basic main 4 forces are and have always been in a battle to be explained.. the very fundlementals of physics and everything we know hinge on these 4 forces and we can't even properly explain how they excist, how they work in all situations, and why they seem to break the general rules of each other under several circumstances. Sure yes, we usually use what we observe as a defining referrence, but quite often what we have oberserved goes against the rules raising serious questions. It's like any attempt at truely defining many of these laws continuously get thrown out the window in situation when it should apply. And low and behold, we come to the point in which 1000's of physicist and scientists still today continue their voyage to find the holy grail so to speak... the unified law that explains and unifies all the forces known and how they work and why they work.
