Video-game design start-up team looking for members to learn the ways together (no/little experience needed)

We are a small team of gaming enthusiasts looking for additional members as we embark into the world of video-game design. This group will be specifically working together in learning the practicable abilities required to design video-games. We are young adult, part-time college students, and take game design very seriously, but are also easy to get along with, and are super easy-going individuals.

Our goals:

Learn the different elements of video-game design, we will be starting with the coding side of things.
Work together as a study group to help each-other understand and to maintain motivation.
Gain valuable networking connections along the way with-in the field.
Once we understand enough code, we will likely start with designing games for mobile platforms (iOS, others) and work our way up.
We strive to design games of quality only seen a few times before by other design teams.

We live in the East and South regions of the San Francisco Bay Area in California, USA. Potential participants do not need to live anywhere near us however, as we use this thing called the Internet to communicate.
We’re extremely dedicated to our goal, and firmly believe that if we help each other out, we can achieve what a few game designers have only pulled off a hand-full of times before.

Again, we don’t care where you live, and there is no age requirement, so long as you have enough time, dedication, discipline, patience, and most importantly, passion for video-games.

Why we decided to do this:
For as far back as we can remember, we’ve been avid gamers, and been one step ahead of everyone else. In the more recent ages however, we have been continually let down by sub-par games by design teams, and by immature, impatient gaming communities. As we look back on our past success and experience, we know that that surely can’t be the best of times. But we don’t want to trust a hope. We’re not simply going to hope for a great game to be released. We want to bring our passion for games directly into the design side of things, to share what we enjoy doing the most.

If game design is something you’ve always wanted to do, but were never sure how to get started, or how to go about doing any of it, or if you’re someone with some experience already and interested in gaining valuable team members, you’ve come to the right place.

This is not a free ride, don’t expect to be sitting back and taught everything. Each member has to be pro-active in learning what needs to be known, and self-motivated to ensure it gets done.
