I gained interest and gave up on Smallville the day I watched an episode containing Kryptonite NOS.
There's cheese, uber cheese, "oh dear god, no", Superman, Fast & Furious 5, asian films, then there's this...

Superman's planet blew up and Kryptonite scattered, which beats Superman. Yep, fine. Green Kryptonite and the rare Red Kryptonite.
There's now red, green, gold, blue, black, silver, gemstone (holy crap).

Smallville doesn't appeal and that's saying a lot considering the crap (as described by others) that I do/did watch. The newer Knight Rider, for example.

I quite liked Smallville in the early days but it did start to get tiresome - I haven't watched it since about season 4. Superboy is about 40 now isn't he

I'll probably watch the finale just to see how the wrap it all up. I know a lot of people like the show so it's good that they are having a proper ending to see it out. Rather than just letting it fade away.

your major problem with smallville is that there are multiple colors of kryptonite?

Smallville didn't invent them... (well except for Blue i beleive)... but the other colors, many of them.. have been floating around in the orginal comic books and comic book knockoffs... or related series comics for YEARS..

Smallville has... for the last 10 years.. had plenty of ups and downs... it's changed from having good storylines with great endings or interesting plots.. to the drama queen episodes which frankly i can't stand to watch....

It seems to go in cycles...

Every season has it's frankly bad episodes..... but there are good in them too... Quite sick and tired of the repeated "mistakes" or repeating situations though... bad when the watcher can predict how the episodes going to be within the short intro before the opening credits....

But i think these last few episodes seem a little rushed in terms of bringing everything round in a completed series.... trying to explain and fit everything into the last few episodes doesn't bode well..

I've stuck with smallville.... stargate, star trek, fringe, sanctuary, farscape, and countless other series that have played out.. all within the same "genre" mostly... even through the crap seasons.

The last ep I watched was season 5, I lost interest after that, that season was pretty lame seasons 1,2 and 3 were pretty good, that dude should have left sooner his career might have been better.

I haven't seen a Smallville ep in a long time but after seeing the trailer for the finale I got excited.

One I'm glad Michael Rosenbaum is coming back for it and second, FINALLY A SUPERMAN COSTUME!!

One thing that annoyed me about the last Superman movie and Smallville was that they seem to be ashamed of Superman and all the patriotic and straitedge things he stood for (in the movie they couldn't even say "Truth, Justice and the American Way", as if they think those are too cheesy or corny to be onscreen but then in Smallville have him wear a black trenchcoat (worst than all the cornball stuff!) with a spray painted "S" on a t-shirt.

I don't care if Superman says or does those cheesy things, he's friggin Superman!

Not exactly; I think they just added too much fluff to make it into a series.

I watch the ending I think was great. I hope they he does TV movie of Superman something like that for CW? Or Metropolis Show So he does Superman more hehe.

I watched it - it was OK. A bit corny in places and looked a little cheap but it's done now so ho hum.

I did find some of it over-sentimental but you gotta expect that with American stuff. Problem is that cheesy, melodramatic crap is finding its way into British stuff. I've had to turn off the last two episodes of Dr Who because of all the over-wrought cauterwailing. First Amy all cut up because Rory was dying, again ( I wish they would kill him off 'cos he's shit), and then the Dr blubbing hot salty tears because the Tardis said hello to him. Plus the fact anyone mentions death or the Dr alludes to doing anything in the future and the companions give it the vacant stare/shush routine - holy fek that's gonna get old. The guy is already nearly a 1000 and has another 200 years to go - that's a good innings in my book.

Like you Jac, there were a couple episodes that were so bad, with the ridiculously over-dramatic music, the annoying jerky cut & zoom to extreme close-up camera bollocks, and at one point a bunch of oldies fecking singing war songs, that I just had to turn off...
it's supposed to be a goddamn cooking show !!!!

Nah didn't watch that. I really don't watch much TV at all nowadays. Mostly just documentaries. Dr Who was the last 'drama' thing I watched but the way it's progressing I think I'm done with that too.

they turned stargate universe into that melodramtic crap as well.... and it turned around and bit them in the ass and ripped ScyFy a new one for well... being total crap..

wasn't until after they figured out the real fans driving the series forward never wanted anything to do with it.

Basically they took a hardcore genre with very specific and balanced ingridents... got greedy and started to broaden the series to include more people that might watch it... and ended up baking the nastiest tasting cake on the planet.... top it off they burnt it...... so every once in awhile you'd get a good taste of stargate... but majority of it was tossed.

They started backtracking to the orginal ingriedents later in season 2.... to little.. to late unfortunately.

i wouldn't put it past MGM to revive the cast or majority of the cast... (they wouldn't have to do it to them all, as it's not the first time parts of suspended animation has failed.

either way.... What i would like to see at this point in time is a combination of SG1, Atlantis and the stargate universe completely converge.... Using Atlantis in some way to end up impacting the results of universes true ending.

3 years seems a bit of an odd timeframe.
