Love at no sight

By sight I mean meet the person...in person.

Do you believe a true love can develop between two people (man and woman or whatever floats your boat) who have never met and their only contact is in writing and occasional voice? (telephone or whatever)

I think it's likely to be a lot harder, but yes, surely it is possible.

However, you'll fall in love with their voice and their writing. If you meet them in person you'll be meeting something slightly different to what you previously knew, and may or may not be in love with the full package.

Just my opinion, of course

I think its possible, it happens all the time, it happened to me once and once I met the girl we had a good relationship for a time. It is most certainly possible.

I am not talking about having a long time relationship based on that alone. Obviously after at least months you will meet in person. But, is it possible to fall in love, for real, even before you meet?

its probably possible.... but i guess people would have to put their all into the long distance messages to really make the magic happen.... since you cant see the other person, it is that much more difficult to express yourself and receive.

Ditto on what Kriss said its possible to fall in love before meeting, but most of the time that's your brain playing tricks on you :'( sad but the truth seldom is a pretty site..

When it happened to me I met her and then we had a long time relationship. Of course you have to meet her first before you have a relationship but the spark can be there before you met her. I should know, I've experienced it before.

One that I fell in love with online (AOL, before internet was easily accessible) I ended up marrying...... The love came via phone calls though not the "web"..... Even after meeting in person it seemed real, I moved out to CA, a year later we cot married. My whole family liked her but what she said she was like and what she acted like was not really who she was. This all came out years later and I still tried to hold it together. She finally ruined everything by getting a "boy friend" or two..... or three? Whatever, she's long gone now. Good riddance!

Don't mean to discourage you, just that it can happen.....

same thing can happen when meeting someone the first time in person. that they act like someone different etc.

Don't think you can fall in love with a person you never met. You'll fall in love with the voice and the character. not the person.

It is possible to really care about a person you haven't met in the flesh. I generally wouldn't give too much weight to a relationship that's still online only (and not only because the other person could be dishonest; for instance, falling in love with what we'd like the other person to be instead with what they really are is very easy if the two have never really met in person), but those emotions can be real and they can serve as basis for something greater.
